On the first day of his Redskins tenure, Jay Gruden has distinguished himself with his sense of humor.

For example, when Tarik El-Bashir asked Gruden if he had selected his offensive and defensive coordinators during the new coach’s introductory press conference, Gruden could have simply said, “No.”

He could have said, “No, that answer is kept in a lockbox in my new office which will only be opened if Bruce Allen and I use custom paired keys and turn counter clockwise at the same time.”

Instead, Gruden responded with levity when El-Bashir mentioned reports of tight ends coach Sean McVay earning a promotion to offensive coordinator. Read more »

Best Of CSN Washington’s Pregame Show

Posted by Stephen Czarda on November 9, 2013 – 12:00 pm

Ever had the chance to read Tarik El-Bashir’s excellent work or see him on the TV and think ‘Wow this guy can do it all ‘?

It’s through Alfred Morris’ running back idol Chick Hernanadez trucking imaginary defenders.

As you chill out on this Saturday afternoon, check out this “Best of Redskins Kickoff” video package of the guys over at CSN Washington:

Combine Hangout On Redskins Offseason

Posted by Brian Tinsman on February 25, 2013 – 7:35 am

On Saturday afternoon, yours truly joined forces with CSN Washington’s Tarik El-Bashir and Bleacher Report’s Will Carroll for the first ever Redskins’ Combine Google+ Hangout.

Carroll hosted the 25-minute debate, asking the two writers fan questions collected on Facebook and Twitter.

Friday’s news that Dr. James Andrews has Redskins’ quarterback Robert Griffin III “way ahead of schedule” brought speculation on whether or not he will be ready for Week 1.

The draft debate centered around the top safety prospects, but also included the possibility of a slot receiver, offensive lineman and could the Redskins draft the Honey Badger?

Check out the full debate, below, and share your own thoughts in the comment section:

Posted by Andrew Walker on July 19, 2012 – 2:57 pm

It’s almost a certainty that Robert Griffin III has all kinds of people in his ear telling him what to do — and what not to do.

Just seeing the kind of person Griffin III has presented himself to be thus far in his short rookie season with the Redskins, I think it’d be safe to say the quarterback has the right people in his circle giving him advice.

A couple members of the media, however, have some additional nuggets of advice for the Redskins’ first-round (second overall) selection in April’s NFL Draft.
