The Tysons Center Redskins team store turned into a brief fashion show Friday evening.

Tanya Snyder, wife of team owner Dan Snyder, and their two daughters, Tiffanie and Brittanie, helped kick off one of the final stops of the NFL Style Tour, which makes its way to FedExField on Saturday. For a few hours they took photos, tried on Redskins clothing and promoted the latest fashion choices for young women around their age.

The VIP-style event was an opportunity to engage with some fans and demonstrate the plethora of options female fans can own to show their fandom.

“I love to be part of the campaign,” Tanya Snyder said. “Over a decade we’ve been working on merchandise and we’re continuing to get better and better, and now with the new fashion campaign we’re – for the last five years – getting off the top, great fashionable pieces that we’re having a lot of fun with.”

Brittanie Snyder said her mother always “encouraged us to dress nicer and try out different looks with all the Redskins gear.”

“I wear my Redskins gear everywhere,” she said. “Before, when it was just jerseys and jeans, I didn’t want to wear that at home because it wasn’t comfortable.”

Her sister agreed, and is glad there are multiple and adaptable options to show her pride each day.

“We didn’t have to sacrifice our own style to do it,” Tiffanie Snyder said. “It was very nice to find merchandise that we enjoyed and paired with things we would normally wear like skirts or pants.”

The idea behind the campaign is that showing fandom, especially for women, doesn’t have to be relegated to game day, but all seven days of the week. As the girls mixed and matched outfits, that much was clear.

Tanya Snyder has found it particularly rewarding, reaching out to women each day and learning about their traditions. The new fashion line allows her expertise to reach out directly to Redskins supporters.

“Getting women together, they’re able to share the passion and love for the Redskins as a franchise,” she said. “They live it everyday.”

The NFL Fan Style Tour continues Saturday at FedExField at 12:30 p.m., where the style truck will be available for the public until the Redskins-Eagles game kicks off at 4:30 p.m.

The truck is located at the Hall of Fame Store (between Gates A & H), and will be fully equipped with NFL products and apparel for men, women and children.

The experience, which includes NFL trivia and an EA Madden 15 gaming station, is free for all fans.

Survivors Celebration Fun Time For All

Posted by Andrew Walker on October 2, 2012 – 2:35 pm

Kendra Cofield watched in amazement as four breast cancer survivors had professionals applying makeup to their faces.

Yes, the four women looked amazing, but, you see, makeup just has never really been Cofield’s thing.

“Honestly, I don’t really know how to put on makeup too well,” Cofield admitted with a smile. “So I like the whole makeup counter we have going on here. I’m trying to pick up some tips.”

Cofield, the wife of Washington Redskins nose tackle Barry Cofield, was one of several Redskins’ wives or girlfriends helping out Tuesday at the fifth-annual All-Star Survivors Celebration at Redskins Park.

The area women participating in Tuesday’s celebration are currently battling breast cancer and receive new wigs, scarves, makeup, jeans and a custom-made pink and burgundy Redskins jersey.

“I was so excited when I found out about the event because breast cancer touches so many different people’s lives,” Cofield said. “I just felt it was so important to be a part of this event, which is such a happy time for them where they can come and be completely pampered and spoiled. It just gives them a break from the daily grind of what they have to go through.”

Cofield said, like so many others, she has been personally affected by breast cancer.

This afternoon was the fourth annual All-Star Survivor Celebration at Redskins Park, which welcomed women that are currently battling breast cancer to come share in an afternoon of luxury.

Redskins tight end Chris Cooley and his wife Christy, were joined by Tanya Snyder, wife of Redskins owner Dan Snyder, to host the event.  Tanya Snyder is a breast cancer survivor herself, having been diagnosed and treated in 2008.  For obvious reasons, this event means a great deal to her.

“Today is about having fun and being inspired, and knowing that it’s going to be okay–hang in there,” she said. “A lot of these women, they have kids at home, they have a lot to fight for, and it is tough.  It is tough to go through what they’re going through, and for them to have an enjoyable day, and even a life-changing day, we want to lift them up and get them through this hardship.” Read more »
