Usually on gamedays I post GIFs of some of the best plays such as Pierre Garcon beaming in footballs with one hand like he has a magnet under his glove, Darrel Young reaffirming the importance of the fullback position and Jordan Reed breaking Cowboys taluses.

When Robert Griffin III went airborne yesterday before landing in an awkward position I paused, waited and ultimately decided not to hit publish on a GIF I found of the gravity defying moment.

Now knowing that his sacrifice for the team in a tie game didn’t result in anything more than a slight cringe, it’s safe to say I can now post the sucker here:

Son Of Washington Gallery: SD-WAS

Game winning TD

On Sunday, the Washington Redskins hosted over 100 alumni at the annual homecoming game against the San Diego Chargers and boy what a way to impress them.

After a legendary goal line stand, the Redskins won the coin toss and marched down the field for a game-winning touchdown.

Through it all, Son of Washington’s Evan Redmon was there to snap every memorable moment from an unforgettable game with throwback jerseys to boot. He got some really great shots from pregame all the way to Darrel Young’s trifecta capper that sent the fans home happy.

Here’s a gallery of what he saw through his camera lens:

Mike McCoy Played Under Mike Shanahan

Even if it was just preseason it still counts.

“Now this is the story all about how my life got flipped, turned upside down.”

Catchy start to a memorable tune, right?

Not only was the famous song by Will Smith the intro for one of the best shows of the 1990’s but it fits the beginning football story of San Diego Chargers head coach Mike McCoy perfectly.

So NFL Network if you ever decide to do “A Football Life: Mike McCoy” you can thank me for the idea of that song punctuating his very brief stint as a quarterback under Mike Shanahan in 1995.

Sunday the two will meet as head coach adversaries in Maryland, but just 18 short years ago McCoy was under Shanahan in training camp as an undrafted tryout.

Enemy Storylines: San Diego Chargers

Posted by Stephen Czarda on November 1, 2013 – 1:00 pm

Sunday’s game will mark the first time the boys of San Diego have played at FedExField since 2005. Not a traditional matchup, the NFC-AFC duel has severe playoff positioning consequences that no one in the media seems to be talking about—well—because we’ll have a few Jim Mora style responses if it’s brought up.

But it’s true.

Both teams sit in third place in their divisions and while it may only be Week 9, neither can afford to go into Week 10 with another loss. The Chargers are trying to keep pace with the Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos while the Redskins are hoping to stay in the thick of a depleted NFC East.

Honestly, I don’t know much about San Diego past it’s beautiful weather year-round, strong military presence and Ron Burgundy’s legendary antics, but these guys do.

Check out this week’s enemy storylines roundup from local San Diego media below:

ESPN 980’s Interview With Chargers Radio

Hopefully you had a great Halloween and stuffed yourself with enough sugar and candy that this ominous looking first day of November isn’t too bad on you. I know my belly is fit to burst this morning with far too many candy bars shoved down my throat last night.

Anyway, with the trick or treating and poorly directed C-level horror movies out of the way it’s time to focus on Redskins-Chargers this Sunday at FedExField.

The Bolts offense has been electric (ahh you see what I did there?) this season behind a resurged Philip Rivers who’s been lighting up the Southern Cali sky.

Like Larry Michael, Chargers’ radio voice Josh Lewin hasn’t missed a snap of the home team this year and has a pretty strong foundation to speak on in terms of analyzing the offense.

He was a guest on “The Drive With Cooley and Czabe” earlier this week and shared some insight on the team’s play.

When They Score At Least 24 Vs. SD..

…They win.

They may not have Ron Burgundy in their starting lineup but the San Diego Chargers have a plethora of talent that entertains Southern California and gives Champ Kind enough excitement to do his evening sports segment for the Channel 4 News Team.

The Chargers are one of the last teams that come to collective mind of Redskins Nation. With homes over 2,500 miles apart and play against one another happening only once every four years, it’s easy to see why.

But as series history indicates this matchup is all about the streaks.

Dating back to the first meeting in 1973, the Redskins won the first six matchups before San Diego’s 30-3 win in 2001 started a three-game winning streak that still stands.

With Redskins-Chargers on the horizon, this week’s featured Redskins.com poll is asking you how many points YOU think the burgundy and gold will score against the Bolts.

Even the scoring has some fascinating streaks to follow.

Week 9 Matchup: TD Advantage D-Hall

Posted by Stephen Czarda on October 30, 2013 – 10:27 am

Yesterday I did the Redskins Weekly Stat Ranking Update and despite the myriad of problems the Redskins face continually on Sundays is the fact that DeAngelo Hall leading the league in defensive touchdowns gained some positive traction.

In juxtaposition of great individual effort and a season marred by mistakes, Hall was blunt about preference of wins over touchdowns.

Never one to finish first in the silent game Hall told Larry Michael, Voice of the Redskins, that he was speechless of what transpired in Mile High and with another disappointing finish he won’t gloss over any individual accomplishments with teammates and media alike.

“For the first time in my life I’m speechless,” Hall said.

If anyone else said that I’d just laugh in obvious denial of their claim, but with Hall–it’s believable.

But how good has Hall been this season?
