PHOTOS: Redskins Rally In Pittsburgh
Posted by on October 27, 2012 – 8:10 pmIt sure was nice to see some burgundy and gold tonight in a city dominated by yellow and black.
The Washington Redskins got into Pittsburgh this afternoon for their matchup tomorrow against the Steelers at Heinz Field, and a crew made its way to the Buffalo Blues restaurant and bar in nearby Shadyside tonight for a Redskins Rally.
We had an awesome crowd full of Redskins fans, and joining them were Redskins general manager Bruce Allen and former tight end and ESPN 980 personality Rick “Doc” Walker. The fans also received free Redskins towels and took part in a raffle that gave away tons of signed items and tickets to tomorrow’s game.
As usual, we’re always amazed by the amount of Redskins fans in each city we’re able to travel to throughout the season. Thanks so much for the support, Pittsburgh!

VIDEO: Redskins Fans Rally In Tampa
Posted by on September 29, 2012 – 11:28 pmIt’s always great to hear a rousing rendition of “Hail To The Redskins” erupting in the opposing team’s city.
That’s exactly what happened early Saturday evening, as the team played host to a Redskins Rally at Elmer’s Sports Cafe in Tampa.
The Redskins and the hometown Buccaneers, of course, face off at 4:25 p.m. Sunday at Raymond James Stadium.
But, of course, the best fans in the world wanted to start the festivities early. They did so Saturday at Elmer’s with special guests like Redskins general manager Bruce Allen, former tight end and ESPN 980 personality Rick “Doc” Walker and Larry Michael, the Voice of the Redskins.
Here’s a video from Saturday’s Redskins Rally in Tampa:

Redskins Rally Kicks Off In Dallas
Posted by on September 25, 2011 – 7:57 pmThe Burgundy and Gold Fan Club of Dallas has officially kicked off their Redskins Rally at Champps Americana in Irving, Texas. If you’re in the area, there’s plenty of time to come out here and see Doc Walker, Larry Michael, (me, of course), and a whole host of other familiar names in Redskins Nation.
I have never seen this many Redskins-clad, burgundy-blooded fans outside of the DMV. What a great crowd!
The emcee began the festivities by saying, “I understand that there are still some Dallas fans here as we begin tonight, so for them, I’ll talk really slow.”
A roar of delight went up from the Redskins faithful, and people got in line for a free “Beat Dallas” T-shirt. If you’re in the area, come get your shirt before the run out!
See you out here:

Dallas Redskins Fan Club To Host Rally
Posted by on September 23, 2011 – 10:10 amEvery time I hear of a Steelers bar in Baltimore, or a Bears bar in Minnesota, or a Dolphins bar in Boston, it amazes me how far a team’s fan club can stretch into hostile territory.
And then there’s the Burgundy and Gold Fan Club of Dallas.
This is a club of devoted Redskins fans that have remained loyal to Old DC, despite living in the shadow of Cowboys Stadium. They’re both a fan club and a support group for other like-minded lovers of Redskins football.
In anticipation of the Monday Night Football game between the Washington Redskins and Dallas Cowboys, the Burgundy and Gold Fan Club of Dallas/Plano invites all Redskins’ fans to the ‘Redskins Rally’ at the Champps Americana restaurant in Irving, Texas on Sunday, Sept. 25 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. CT.
If you can make it, the location and address are:
Champps Americana
855 W. John Carpenter Fwy.
Irving, Texas 75039
I will be there blogging and tweeting the event live, so make sure that you tune into the Redskins blog and Twitter on Sunday night.
Get there early, because every Redskins fan will receive a free ‘Beat Dallas’ T-shirt, until they run out. Fans will get the opportunity to win prizes such as helmets autographed by Sonny Jurgensen and Sam Huff, as well as tickets to the Redskins’ Monday Night game at Cowboys Stadium.
I’m also told that some extra special guests could be in attendance.
The Burgundy and Gold Fan Club is the only Redskins fan club in Dallas. Visit them on Facebook, Meetup.com or at www.dallasredskins.com.
