VIDEO: Redskins ‘Sword Fight’ At Event
Posted by on December 11, 2012 – 5:03 pmWhen you’ve got balloons, a couple dozen kids and a few really big football players who still want to be kids, havoc is sure to set in.
That’s what happened today at the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation’s “Covered for the Holidays” coat giveaway at the Macy’s Metro Center in downtown Washington, D.C.
Several Redskins players — including Fred Davis, Doug Worthington, Joshua Morgan, Alfred Morris, Logan Paulsen and Sav Rocca — came to the event on their day off to help the area school children get their coats.
But some of them just couldn’t help it when they saw balloon animals being made at the event, and before you knew it, chaos broke out.
It started as just a couple of kids battling it out with Worthington and Morgan before Davis got involved. And then Morris jumped in and was absolutely mauled.
It was terrific to see all the smiles on the kids’ faces, which is, I’m sure, what makes it worth it for these players to do things like this on their day off. Kudos to all involved for such a great event.

Balloon Art Popular With Students, Players
Posted by on December 6, 2011 – 6:41 pmAt today’s “Covered for the Holidays” event at the Metro Center Macy’s, the Redskins players got to interact on the same level as elementary school children.
But in order to do that, they had to be properly outfitted upon arrival.
One of the additional perks of the day is that students were given a balloon along with their coats, hats, gloves and goodie bags. Who would have suspected that the balloons would end up being one of the favorite items, especially among players.
Before the players ever arrived, the students entertained themselves with a joust:

And the horseplay didn’t stop once the players arrived. It just featured grown men after a while.
