In case you haven’t heard, today is 12/12/12. This date won’t happen again for another century.
To celebrate, The Redskins Blog has brought to you an extensive look at the No. 12s in Washington Redskins history.
To date, 21 Redskins players have worn No. 12 for a season, according to Redskins public relations (14 are pictured above). Currently wearing the number, of course, is rookie quarterback Kirk Cousins.
Of those Redskins No. 12s, 11 were quarterbacks, three were halfbacks, two were wide receivers, and one each were a fullback, tackle, end, defensive back and punter.
Overall, the Redskins are 273-245-4 (.527) in the seasons in which a No. 12 plays for the team.
And, on an interesting note, no player wore No. 12 for the Redskins from the 1953 through 1974 seasons. Washington was just 127-151-14 (.435) during that span.
