Niles Paul Honored With Dance, Video
Posted by on September 6, 2012 – 4:09 pm
I have a feeling that “doing the Niles Paul” is going to be the next big dance craze.
OK, actually, I try to keep as far away from dance floor as possible, but thanks to YouTube user MyRyTunes and the “Niles Mafia,” we have some new steps to learn.
MyRyTunes has what I’m guessing are self-produced videos with self-produced songs and self-produced dances. Here’s his tribute to Paul, the Redskins’ second-year tight end:

Griffin III Wants To Know ‘Why?’
Posted by on July 10, 2012 – 2:27 pmThe “who,” “what,” “when,” “where,” and “how” are apparently on the back-burner for Redskins’ quarterback Robert Griffin III.
But it’s the “why?” that has the rookie quarterback curious.

The Skinny On Niles Paul Gaining Weight
Posted by on June 14, 2012 – 10:44 amPerhaps Niles Paul had an inclination over the past few months he was going to be making a transition from wide receiver to tight end.
Going into his 2011 rookie season with the Redskins, Paul stood at 6-foot-1 and weighed 220 pounds.

Niles Paul Hates Roller Coasters
Posted by on June 5, 2012 – 2:22 pmHe has no reservations about going across the middle against the NFL’s beastiest of linebackers and safeties, but there’s something about a roller coaster that makes Redskins’ tight end Niles Paul cringe.
Paul was one of several Redskins players who joined the team’s 80th Anniversary Thank You Tour Saturday afternoon at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, Va.

Redskins Enjoy 3rd Annual ‘Ride 2 Provide’
Posted by on April 24, 2012 – 10:21 am
via @graceramirez
The forecast called for rain, but it was nothing but sun and smiles at Lorenzo Alexander’s “Ride 2 Provide” charity bike ride on Saturday. Alexander and Kedric Golston hosted the event for the third year, and were joined by teammates Ryan Kerrigan, Niles Paul, Logan Paulsen, Rob Myers, as well as former Redskin Chris Wilson and the Hogettes.
And yes, Paulsen is shown wearing a light purple tutu. No, I don’t know why–but I will find out.
The event raises money for wounded veterans recovering from their injuries, as well as Alexander’s ACES foundation. Alexander was excited with the biker turnout, but really enjoyed the support of his teammates for his biggest annual event:
“It’s pretty cool to have your teammates out here supporting you,” Alexander said with a grin. ”A lot of guys have chosen to get involved and help me out, and it shows what type of men they are and what they’re all about. The local media have created a great bond over the years, and those guys have come out to support me as well.
“It goes beyond football and the Redskins on a day-to-day basis,” he added. ”We’re about relationships and building a better community.”

Redskins Hoops Action: Just The Dunks
Posted by on April 6, 2012 – 11:33 am
Last Friday was the celebrity charity basketball game that pitted the Redskins against their geographical Baltimore Ravens rivals. What amazed most about the game is how much raw athleticism the players had to perform ably in two sports.
I wouldn’t bet on them in a high-stakes ping pong tournament, but there was a comfort level on the court that led to good-natured showboating and high-flying slam dunks.
The pictures from the event were posted on Golden Era Entertainment’s Facebook page mid-week, but with jersey-mania, it was worth waiting until Friday.
Enjoy the high-flying Redskins action as we recap all of the Redskins dunks: Read more »

Fastest Redskins Debate, Version 2.012
Posted by on April 2, 2012 – 5:14 pmDuring the darkest hours of last offseason’s lockout, Redskins receivers Anthony Armstrong and Brandon Banks livened up the debate with a playful Twitter war of who would be faster in a foot race.
While the race was never consummated (due to concerns of injuries), the merit of each competitor was debated back and forth, 140 characters at a time. Banks is traditionally thought of as the team’s speedster, but special teams coordinator Danny Smith has clocked Armstrong at a sub-4.2 on kickoff coverage.
Whichever man is faster, we may never know–but other Redskins receivers threw their hats in the ring this afternoon, declaring their shot at the title of ‘The Fastest Redskin.’
Here’s a Twitter recap between Brandon Banks (@SpeedyBanks16), Niles Paul (@Niles_Paul) and Terrence Austin (@Terrence_Austin), with their respective merits: Read more »

Redskins’ Huskers Celebrate 2012 Pro Day
Posted by on March 9, 2012 – 3:40 pmIt’s been a year ago, almost to the day, that three members of the Nebraska Cornhuskers solidified themselves on the Redskins’ Draft boards with their efforts at the school’s Pro Day. A mere seven weeks later, Roy Helu, DeJon Gomes and Niles Paul were called with successive Redskins picks, quadrupling the Nebraska presence on the team (Adam Carriker).
Yesterday was the 2012 Pro Day in Lincoln, Neb., and although none of the Redskins’ players were in attendance, it was definitely on the minds and fingertips of the two that use Twitter.
Paul tweeted his best wishes to his former Big Red teammates, sending good vibes to the NFL-hopefuls:
S/o to all my boys chasing their dreams at Nebraska's pro day today!—
Niles Paul (@Niles_Paul) March 08, 2012
And it worked.
