Kirk Cousins Could Go To First Rose Bowl

Posted by Gabe Hiatt on December 7, 2013 – 3:57 pm

Kirk Cousins will stay in the D.C. area today, studying film, sitting in meetings and getting a proper night’s rest before the Redskins take on the Chiefs Sunday afternoon.

But a piece of him will travel to Indianapolis, where the Michigan State Spartans will play the Ohio State Buckeyes in the fourth annual Big Ten football championship game kicking off at 8:17 p.m.

Redskins Audible, Take QB Kirk Cousins

Show me the NFL “expert” that predicted this draft class for the Redskins.

Going into the weekend, most NFL minds predicted that the Redskins would upgrade the quarterback position with Robert Griffin III.  No one could have estimated that the Redskins would totally remodel their quarterback position, by adding Michigan State quarterback Kirk Cousins.

Cousin’s intrigue with the Redskins coaching staff was surely solidified with an outstanding performance against Shanahan’s South Team at the 2012 Senior Bowl.  Cousin’s appeared polished, and made all the throws necessary to move up the draft board.

It will be interesting to see what head coach Mike Shanahan has to say about taking a second quarterback in lieu of addressing other obvious needs.  It will also be interesting to see how recently selected quarterback RG3 responds to the addition of KC1.

Here’s a snippet from Pro Football Weekly’s interview of Cousins at the Senior Bowl: Read more »
