Going into the 2012 season, the hype surrounding the Redskins reached unrivaled levels thanks to this fellow by the name of Robert Griffin III.

Griffin III was joining a team littered with first round talents (Ryan Kerrigan, Trent Williams and Brian Orakpo) and undrafted phenoms outperforming their draft day exclusions like NFL ironman London Fletcher.

While No. 10 thrashed his opponents en route to AP Offensive Rookie of the Year honors, he isn’t the top rated Redskin on CBSSports’ NFL Top-100 list.

Enter Alfred Morris.

While the story of No. 46’s unexpected rise from seldom known sixth-round pick to a franchise rushing record has been told multiple times already, let me give you a shortened recap of the former FAU star’s career.

Before Morris was strapping on a Burgundy and Gold helmet, he worked out 12 hours a day honing his skills that would eventual bolster him to one of the top tailbacks in the league. Then, after being pretty much an afterthought of the 2012 draft class he found himself starting in Week 1 against the New Orleans Saints.

1,613 yards, 13 touchdowns and one franchise record later, Morris finds himself as the No. 41 player on Peter Prisco’s top-100 list and the second running back behind 2012 NFL MVP Adrian Peterson.

While Morris’ 2012 output was perhaps the biggest “feel good” story of the year, he wasn’t a one-man band for the league’s top rushing attack.

Griffin III rushed for 815 yards and seven touchdowns along with his 3,200 passing yards and took the Nation’s Capital by storm. While a No. 83 placement seems a bit low for the AP Offensive Rookie of the Year, Prisco does believe that the best is yet to come from the former Heisman-winner.

“He was electrifying until he hurt his leg late and then suffered the ACL injury in the playoff loss. I think it will help make him a better quarterback in the long run.”

Williams paved the way for Morris and Griffin III to rush for over 2,000 yards and protected No. 10’s blindside. The 2012 Pro Bowler is No. 78 on Prisco’s list.

So what are your thoughts on the three Redskins on the list? Are they too low?

Also, do you find it odd that none of the three Pro Bowl linebackers are on the list?

Hail to the Redskins!

On Wednesday, longtime Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive back Ronde Barber announced his intentions to retire after a 16-year career in which he appeared in five Pro Bowls and was named as an All-Pro three times.

On November 22, 1998, Barber took the field against the Detroit Lions in just your average regular season game. Three decades, one Super Bowl victory, and a decision to ditch their famous, or infamous, creamsicle jerseys later, Barber appeared in all of Tampa Bay’s 240 games until December 30, 2012.

While the defensive back pulled a Darrell Green and became a lifer for the loss-stricken franchise before his arrival, London Fletcher was proving that every NFL team completely miscounted his talents during the 1998 NFL Draft.

Since 2007, the four-time Pro Bowler has called the Nation’s Capital home and today he can also officially claim himself as the NFL’s sole Ironman after being tied with Barber with 240 consecutive appearances.

Now don’t go confusing Fletcher with the box office hit. Unlike Tony Stark his performances are real.

Similar to Stark’s suit of power, it seems that every time Fletcher snaps on his Redskins helmet and puts on his gold pants, he’s invincible.

In 1998, the undrafted college free agent signed with the St. Louis Rams. Few expected him to beat out his drafted counterparts for a roster spot. No one expected him to actually take the field during a regular season game.

On September 6, 1998 Fletcher took the field for the Rams against the New Orleans Saints.

Here’s a fun fact for you—at the time tackles weren’t an official stat yet.

Also, Aerosmith’s “I Don’t Want to Miss A Thing” was the top jam in the country.

Unless you’ve completed stonewalled football from your life the last 15 years, there’s almost no chance you’ve missed Fletcher’s streak.

While there’s already a bevy of storylines to follow during the Redskins’ Monday Night Football opener against the Eagles, keep tabs on Fletcher as he looks to extend his games played streak.

Hail to the Redskins!

(AP Photo)

As I wrote earlier today, the Redskins had an extra fifth round draft pick in this year’s from a 2011 trade and used it on Florida State linebacker Brandon Jenkins.

Jenkins was the second Florida State player selected by the Burgundy and Gold in the fifth round. Just eight picks earlier, the Redskins took FSU running back Chris Thompson.

Did the Redskins just add another future Pro Bowler to a unit that already features Brian Orakpo, Ryan Kerrgian, London Fletcher and Perry Riley?

Jenkins was a preseason All-American and All-ACC candidate in 2012 before suffering a season-ending foot injury. If the former Seminole plays up to his top pick potential before being sidelined, the Redskins just got another late round steal–a Mike Shanahan specialty.

Here’s a little video to get you jacked up for Jenkins arrival in the Nation’s Capital.

Jenkins’ strengths according to NFL.com:

Possesses very good initial quickness, eats up grass with long strides, and has the flexibility to turn the corner as a pass rusher. Has length and upper-body strength to rip off blocks and throw quarterbacks and running backs to the ground. Also displays the power to get lesser linemen on their heels. Not contact-shy playing the run, will stick his shoulder to keep leverage against single blocker and double teams to hold the line.

And NFL Draft expert Mike Mayock thoughts on a selection that he had graded well above fifth round levels.

While Jenkins is on the road to recovery from his injury it will be interesting to see how he fits in.

But one thing is for certain—he has some pretty amazing mentors to work with.

Hail to the Redskins!

Mark your calendars Redskins Nation its official, the 2012 NFC East champions will open the 2013 slate against NFC East rival Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football at FedExField. The opener is one of five primetime affairs for the Burgundy and Gold.

And yes its the same Eagles who the Redskins swept during the 2012 campaign including a 31-6 victory at FedExField that jump started the Redskins epic run to the postseason.

With plenty of storylines to dig into, it only seems fitting to do a way too early preview of a game that is still months away.

Here are some topics to follow that night:

The Washington Redskins and Philadelphia Eagles have met 156 times dating back to 1934 when the Burgundy and Gold beat the Eagles in a defensive contest, 6-0.

Don’t expect such a low scoring game this time around, though.

With Robert Griffin III and Alfred Morris leading the charge for the Redskins and former Virginia Tech star Michael Vick and 2011 All-Pro running back LeSean McCoy taking command of the Eagles offense, there’s not telling how many big plays could come on offense that night.

Remember last year the highly talked about matchup between Griffin III and Vick never came to fruition as the Eagles gunslinger was sideline both times the teams took the field.

The waiting game to see these two human highlight reels battle for a number one spot on top play countdowns could finally be coming to an end.

Speaking of offensive fireworks, will newly-minted Eagles coach Chip Kelly be able to translate his highly successful spread offense to the pros or will two-time Super Bowl winning coach Mike Shanahan spoil his professional debut?

Kelly’s offense, however, could struggle against the Redskins defense especially with the pending returns of linebacker Brian Orakpo and defensive end Adam Carriker.

Orakpo will rejoin fellow linebackers Ryan Kerrigan, London Fletcher, and Perry Riley to form the best linebacking unit in the league. Fletcher and Riley finished last season in the top-15 in tackles while Kerrigan appeared in his first Pro Bowl.

Other storylines to follow:

–Morris broke the Redskins single-season rushing record in his first year, what will he have for an encore in year two?

–How will the newest members of the team perform in their first regular season games in Burgundy and Gold?

–Tight end Fred Davis was one of Griffin III’s favorite targets before he went down with a season-ending injury in Week 7 last year, will a fully healthy Davis be No. 1o’s go-to-guy once again?

–This is the Redskins second primetime, home opener under Shanahan. In his debut in the Nation’s Capital in 2010, the Redskins defeated the Cowboys 13-7 on Sunday Night Football.

–Same story, different year: Fletcher’s games played streak. Need I say more?

Check back with the blog and website as we will be dissecting each game over the next few weeks as we inch closer to September 9th.

Tell me your thoughts on the schedule as well as the opener at FedExField.

Hail to the Redskins!

Last week, the Washington Redskins signed former Philadelphia Eagle and Seattle Seahawk Darryl Tapp. During his seven years in the National Football League, Tapp has dug his hand deep in the dirt in the three-point stance on the line.

However, with the Burgundy and Gold Tapp will convert to linebacker and provide quality depth for one of the best linebacking units in the league that includes Pro Bowlers London Fletcher, Ryan Kerrigan and Brian Orakpo. Middle linebacker Perry Riley was top-15 in tackles in his first year as a full-time starter and Rob Jackson burst onto the scene after setting career-highs across the board including a key interception in the team’s Week 17 NFC East clinching victory against the Dallas Cowboys.

While he has spent the past three years with one of the Redskins biggest foes, Tapp is ready to play for the team he grew up rooting for.

Sometimes u jus gotta go home—
Darryl Tapp (@dtapp55) March 28, 2013

Tapp was born and raised in Redskins country in Portsmouth, Virginia. After a standout career at Deep Creek High School, he had several options as to where he could play at the next level. Although he had discussions with the University of Virginia and the University of Florida, he ultimately decided to stay close to home and attended Virginia Tech under coaching legend Frank Beamer.

Over the last several decades, Virginia Tech’s success has been built on lockdown defenses. From 2003-2006, the unit’s dominance was headlined by Tapp. His senior season was his best as he was an All-American nomination for a top-15 team that held opponents to 20 points or less in 10 out of 13 contests.

Across the board the 2006 NFL Draft was one of the deepest in league history. While the first round was littered with high-profile prospects, the entire draft features 35 different players that have appeared at the Pro Bowl.

After the Seattle Seahawks selected Tapp with the 53rd overall pick in the draft, the Virginia Tech product made a cross country move to Washington state.

After four years in the Emerald City, Tapp decided to move closer to home and wound up with the Philadelphia Eagles before signing with the Burgundy and Gold.

For his career Tapp has 288 tackles, 24 sacks, nine forced fumbles and two interceptions. 47 of his 288 tackles have come against NFC East teams, and yes for those of you who are wondering 14 of those have come against Washington.

As an admitted lifelong Redskins fan one can only wonder the mixed emotions he might have felt on each take down. No worries for Tapp or the Redskins as he is coming home to the team that he loves.

With four playoff starts and 107 career appearances, Tapp fits in perfectly with an experienced defensive unit that will also featuring the return of Adam Carriker.

Keep and eye on Tapp’s transition to linebacker under defensive coordinator Jim Haslett and his 3-4 scheme during training camp this summer in Richmond. With Fletcher, Kerrigan and Orakpo as mentors for Tapp we have no doubt that his move is in good hands.

Hail to the Redskins and welcome home, Darryl!

Welcome to your weekly Redskins Social Media Spotlight, where we highlight the trendy topics and social media campaigns going on this week in Redskins Nation. Check it out and make suggestions below.

As we continue to bring you updates each week to let you know how Redskins players are spending their offseason, we’re happy to inform fans that players are beginning to slowly trickle back in to Redskins Park after a few months away following the season. Believe it or not, the draft is a little more than a month away which means that OTAs and Redskins football is just around the corner.

In the meantime, we’re here to at least try and keep you engaged until that time comes.

You can check out last week’s Social Media Spotlight which debated the hot topic of whether it’s acceptable for men to wear yoga pants at the gym (still undecided) as well as recapped LB Ryan Kerrigan and K Kai Forbath’s golf outing, QB Robert Griffin III and Baylor’s upset over #4 Kansas, and LB London Fletcher announcing, via Twitter, his plans to return.

This week, we’ll catch a glimpse of WR Dezmon Briscoe working out and working hard, including what Griffin III thinks about the wide receiver’s workout. We’ll also take a look at DE Jarvis Jenkins’s inspirational quote, Kai Forbath’s comments on the return of LS Nick Sundberg and P Sav Rocca, and, last but not least, we’ll bring you WR Pierre Garçon’s take on March Madness.

Plus, does anyone remember the movie Space Jam? We sure do and so does G Chris Chester. We’ll let Chris give his thoughts on Bill Murray’s role in the film and more. Welcome to this week’s Redskins Social Media Weekly Spotlight!

Every now and then we all need that extra kick, the extra motivation to get up out of bed in the morning and tackle whatever the day may bring. Like the movie Office Space we all get a case of the Monday’s from time to time. If that statement rings true for you, Jarvis Jenkins provides the wherewithal to fight the “I really don’t feel like going to work today” feeling.

"A champion is someone who gets up when he can't."– who up grinding?? #HTTR—
jarvis jenkins (@Jarvis99jenkins) March 14, 2013

Keep grinding, Jarvis, and HTTR!

Following his inaugural season in Washington, Kai Forbath was one-third of a special teams crew consisting of P Sav Rocca and LS Nick Sundberg whom could bank on the fact he would be returning. So he was ecstatic to hear about the return of both Rocca and Sundberg! #ThreeManWreckingCrew

Hearing about Nick and Sav resigning just got me even more pumped for next season! Our special teams crew is back! #HTTR—
Kai Forbath (@KaiForbath) March 12, 2013

Next up: Griffin III likes seeing his receivers working hard. In fact, he liked seeing Briscoe’s Twitter status enough that he deemed it worthy of a RT.

“@DezBriscoe89: Lets get better today! 🏈🏈 http://t.co/czxAegtMqF” Oh snap!!!! It's about to go down!—
Robert Griffin III (@RGIII) March 16, 2013

Keep up the good work, Dezmon!

It’s fair to say that we all remember the high school or college days where we’d keep an eye on the March Madness Basketball Tournament in class, and so does Pierre.

I remember in HS we would watch the March Madness games in class. #ImGettingOld—
Pierre Garçon (@PierreGarcon) March 14, 2013

You’re not alone, Pierre! Now we just do it at work. #NeverTooOld

Did you know that Chris Chester was a Bill Murray fan? Neither did we, but needless to say we can all appreciate the movie Space Jam.

Bill Murray's performance in Space Jam way underrated.—
Chris Chester (@chesterchris66) March 15, 2013

In dedication to Chris Chester, here’s a short clip of Bill Murray getting ready to take on the aliens of Moron Mountain. Enjoy!

Welcome to your weekly Redskins Social Media Spotlight, where we highlight the trendy topics and social media campaigns going on this week in Redskins Nation. Check it out and make suggestions below.

Last week’s Social Media Weekly Spotlight covered WR Niles Paul and his former Nebraska Cornhusker teammates doing the Harlem Shake, NT Chris Baker’s plea for 10k Twitter followers as well as a mural from Washington D.C.’s own WR Joshua Morgan.

Admittedly so, most people probably don’t get as far as clicking the link to read these weekly social media updates. Contrarily, some of you may be reading this and say, ‘Who cares about the Redskins Social Media Weekly Spotlight?’ To that, we say that it’s time to start taking social media seriously.

Fact of the matter is that social media has rapidly integrated itself into our everyday lives.

For those of you who continue to read, here’s a look at K Kai Forbath and LB Ryan Kerrigan as they hit the links, QB Robert Griffin III’s return to Baylor, LB London Fletcher‘s preparation for season 16 and G Chris Chester‘s odd, and forgettable, experience at his local gym.

According to Chris Chester’s Twitter account (@chrischester66), the Redskins guard went to the gym the other day for a routine workout and, to his surprise, encountered a man wearing yoga pants.

Just saw a man wearing yoga pants at the gym #manlawviolation.—
Chris Chester (@chesterchris66) March 08, 2013

You debate: Is it a violation for men to wear yoga pants at the gym?

He’s known for his hysterically funny impersonation of Ron Burgundy’s ‘Milk was a bad choice’ quote, but did you also know that Ryan Kerrigan (@RyanKerrigan91) has aspirations to become the next Happy Gilmore? Check out this tweet from The Athletes First Golf Classic in LA this past weekend.

Heading to LA for The @athletesfirst Classic.. Hoping this will springboard me to the PGA Tour like the Waterbury Open did for Happy Gilmore—
Ryan Kerrigan (@RyanKerrigan91) March 08, 2013

Good luck with the tour card, Ryan! We’ll be sure to let Redskins fans know if/when number 91 makes his first PGA Tour appearance. And here’s what K Kai Forbath (@KaiForbath) had to say about the dynamic Redskins duo!

Had a great time with golfing @RyanKerrigan91 today! We dominated that tournament! #HTTR—
Kai Forbath (@KaiForbath) March 11, 2013

Robert Griffin III (@RGIII) returned home to Copperas Cove, Texas this weekend for the naming of Robert Griffin III Blvd. Following the ceremony, he was in attendance to witness Baylor’s upset over #4 Kansas. In case you missed it, here’s a behind the scenes glimpse of Griffin III with Baylor’s superstar senior point guard Pierre Jackson. Jackson finished the game with 28 points, 10 assists and 6 rebounds, and we like to credit Griffin III for being his good luck charm.

Me and the NFL'S rookie if the year @RGIII !!
Moving forward on to free agency and the burning question about the return of LB London Fletcher. Over the past few weeks, we’ve started a #CantEscapeTheQuestion watch campaign to monitor Fletcher’s Twitter account (@LFletcher59) for updates. Well, this past week the veteran linebacker tweeted, what seems to be, some indication that he plans to return for another season with the burgundy and gold.

The veteran claims that his preparation for season 16 is underway!

Surgery went great…thanks for all the well wishes! Prep begins now for season 16! #Monster216 #HTTR—
London Fletcher (@LFletcher59) March 06, 2013

The team also announced earlier that it has re-signed five players who were instrumental in the team’s late season push to the playoffs and the 2012 NFC East title; the first in 13 years, as well as tenuring another. Click here to see their reactions after hearing the news.

Last but not least, here’s a quick update on Chris Baker’s quest to ten thousand followers. If you can recall from last week’s installment, the run-stuffing nose tackle had 9,258 Twitter followers. We’re sorry to report that he’s still well short of 10,000 but happy to announce that he is now up to 9,287 (+29).

If that number was the team’s turnover ratio, well, that would be one thing, but it’s not and he still needs your help. Come on Redskins fans, follow @cbaker92 and reward Baker by helping him get to 10k! #swaggy

Thank you, Twitterverse, for providing yet another week of Redskins updates!

Redskins Birthday’s this week: CB Josh Wilson (Monday, March 11th).

What’s on tap this week in social media?

Over the last several seasons, Redskins fans have been treated to some splendid play by one of, if not the, best linebacking core in the league.

With perennial Pro Bowler and NFL iron man London Fletcher, 2013 Pro Bowlers Ryan Kerrigan and Lorenzo Alexander, former Pro Bowler Brian Orakpo, Perry Riley, and Rob Jackson, I think its safe to say that the Redskins depth at the linebacker position is simply unheard of.

However, while those six men have been instrumental in limiting opposing defenses for years, they have competition at staking claim as the best linebacking core in franchise history.

Hall of Famers Sam Huff and Chris Hanburger are arguably two of the great linebackers in NFL history and for a four-year stretch in the late 1960′s, they terrorized opponents week in and week out lining up in burgundy and gold together.

Find out what these two former teammates had to say about their reign of destruction together here:

<nflcs:avplayer data-contentid='b33db6c0-e469-47c9-a4fe-6b978896b3d3' data-width='640' data-alignment='center' data-autoplay='false' data-pr='' data-adtagsuffix=';player=embedded' data-playername='wordpress-embed' class='center' />

Sam Huff was selected by rival New York Giants in the 1956 NFL Draft and gave the Redskins fits for years as the All-Pro caliber linebacker became a thorn in the side of Washington. In 1964, however, Huff decided to turn in his Giants jersey in favor of a Redskins one as fans across the area rejoiced at the team’s newest addition.

Any doubts about his performance being affected with his move away from the Big Apple quickly vanished as he made his fifth Pro Bowl in his first season in the nation’s capitol. Starting in 1965, he was joined by a quick learning, highly-touted prospect from the University of North Carolina, Chris Hanburger.

“Of course I had been in the army for two years before I even went to college so I was a little older than the other rookies that were there,” Hanburger said of his first training camp with the Redskins. “And my philosophy going up there was just it’s a great chance and I’m going to do the best that I can, but if it doesn’t work out here I’m not going to quit here, I’ll go find some other team I can give a shot to.”

Redskins fans never had to worry about that scenario as he adjusted to the professional level with relative ease and veterans like Huff quickly noticed his knack for getting to the ball.

“I watched him come on board and I was a linebacker and he was a linebacker and when I saw how fast he was, I said ‘I’ve got to get another job some place,’” Huff said with a grin. “Fortunately, he was better on the outside , coming from the outside, to get to the quarterback then me coming up the middle.”

Hanburger who admitted that he knew little about the NFL during his time at UNC was admittedly stunned by Huff’s comments of praise.

“I never followed professional football when I was in college,” Hanburger said. “[But] that was a big thrill to have somebody like Sam, who I never even knew anything about him until I got to training camp, come up and tell me that.”

In Hanburger’s first season, he would only start five games, however, he saw a majority of his action on special teams where he became a ruthless tackler. In a rarity in today’s NFL standards, Huff also joined Hanburger on the unit.

<nflcs:avplayer data-contentid='3fb76de1-ea31-4094-99ea-b9bedb6f660d' data-width='640' data-alignment='center' data-autoplay='false' data-pr='' data-adtagsuffix=';player=embedded' data-playername='wordpress-embed' class='center' />

“Going down on the field from the 50-yard line, running down there hitting the wedge which is four big guys, bigger than us, but we had to run and then you have to knock them over to get the guy that caught the ball, and take him down,” Huff said of the challenges of playing special teams. “I want to tell you something, nobody could take them down faster [than Hanburger]. I wasn’t hitting anybody. He beat me down the field and took them down and got up and said ‘Where were you, I was following you.’”

Word of Hanburger’s unprecedented tackling skills quickly spread and in his second season, he became a full-time starter on defense and corralled opponents non-stop for 60 minutes each and every week.

“I had somebody on the outside of me that could play, he and I together, and we did. We took a lot of guys apart,” Huff said of the one-two tandem “He’d come from the outside and I’d come up the middle and no trespassing. We hit them and we knocked them down. They’d start changing the rules because of what he and I did on the field. He was the best.”

In 2011, Hanburger rejoined his teammate and friend in the Hall of Fame as the two men will forever be joined in Canton, Ohio. With each passing year, there is no doubt that Huff and Hanburger are two of the all-time gridiron greats!

Congrats to both men once again!

Welcome to your weekly Redskins Social Media Spotlight, where we highlight the trendy topics and social media campaigns going on this week in Redskins Nation. Check it out and make suggestions below.

Last week’s Social Media Weekly Spotlight dived into the Combine, including some of the responses that Redskins players had in regards to the results, as well as WR Pierre Garçon’s plea to LB London Fletcher to play one more year. We still do not know the answer to the latter (hopefully, we’ll have more information by the end of this week).

In fact, at this point in the decision process, all we have to fall back on is the interview with Redskins.com that the saavy vet had following the season. While some may be inclined to sit back and wonder what if, trying to envision the future with or without the middle linebacker, we will not. You may ask, why? Well, because life must go on for the time being.

So without further ado, we bring you another installment of your weekly Redskins Social Media Spotlight, consisting of Niles Paul’s Harlem Shake, Joshua Morgan’s inspiring picture, Chris Baker’s plea for 10k Twitter followers, and more!

If you haven’t noticed lately, there have been quite a bit of Harlem Shake videos surfacing the web, at a furious rate. In an attempt to try and keep pace, and since most Redskins players are back at home training and resting for their return to Ashburn, Va. in May, we scoured the internet to find a Harlem Shake that has a little Redskins flavor.

Here’s a tweet from Redskins TE Niles Paul from his old teammates performing a Harlem Shake video during spring practice.

Nebraska doing a Harlem Shake video during spring practice was pure genius #Huskers #GBR youtu.be/bGVagrpZUQY—
Niles Paul (@Niles_Paul84) March 02, 2013

For more from Niles, follow him on Twitter @Niles_Paul84. In the meantime, stay tuned and we’ll try to get our creative juices flowing in order to bring you a Redskins version of this phenomenon!

NT Chris Baker is known among his teammates for bringing the “swag” and he certainly has a magnetic personality that draws attention from those around him. But he needs your help, Redskins fans!

He needs more Twitter followers in his quest to 10,000. Baker’s account currently stands at 9,258 and, over the weekend, he went public to help him reach his goal.

I need more followers help me get to 10k tweeps come on let's go #HTTR #swaggy #redskins—
Chris Baker (@cbaker92redskin) March 01, 2013

There it is, help #swaggy get to 10k and follow him on Twitter @cbaker92redskin. You won’t regret the decision!

It’s a pretty well-known fact that WR Joshua Morgan has a deep-rooted appreciation for Washington D.C. that dates back to his childhood. Though this is no surprise, oftentimes it’s nice for us to reflect on Morgan’s success story and, for Morgan, it’s a chance for him to look in the mirror and keep driving, keep striving, to make a greater impact on the field and in the community that he knows so dearly.

Earlier this week he Instagrammed this pretty cool picture, followed by a quote, about what this city means to him. Check it out!

Im a rare breed and its because of where im from what my city does to you and the talent it produces not… instagr.am/p/WUSGt4Bgbp/—
Joshua Morgan (@JoshMorgan) March 01, 2013

“I’m a rare breed and it’s because of where I’m from what my city does to you and the talent it produces not many built like us … STILL I GRIND , Love my city … There’s nothing like it … #dcornothing #httr #wizards #caps #nats #dcunited #SE”

We appreciate you Joshua, keep pursuing the dream! You can follow Morgan on Twitter @JoshMorgan or on Instagram @feetzmorgan202.

Last but not least, remember earlier this season when QB Kirk Cousins felt the need to apologize for his new haircut? He labeled it as a ‘communication breakdown’ between him and a local Dulles barber. Well, no more, because according to his Twitter account he’s now sporting a new look.

Got a haircut today, my first since the "Dulles Barber Debacle". Now I can officially move on.—
Kirk Cousins (@KirkCousins8) March 03, 2013

On behalf of Redskins Nation, we’re happy that Kirk was able to correct the mistake because we all know that it boils down to a simple haircut gone wrong #simplethings #misfortunes. You can follow the quarterback on Twitter @KirkCousins8.

What’s on tap this week in social media?
