You couldn’t help but be impressed by the entire Redskins’ defensive line — from the top of the depth chart to the bottom — after Thursday’s preseason-0pening victory against the Buffalo Bills.

We shift focus from one side of the line of scrimmage to the other with our next video from Monday’s practice.
The defensive linemen on Monday were working on their footwork and their explosion out of the stance.

As a football player, Redskins’ defensive line coach Jacob Burney can be your best friend or your worst nightmare.
He’s not afraid to dish out some fierce coaching advice, but his words of encouragement are probably very rewarding.
It’s that kind of quality coaching that gives the Redskins one of the top returning defensive front-seven in the NFL.

The thunder is clapping and the lighting is striking in Ashburn, Va., as we have the first weather-related delay of Training Camp: 2012.
As the team settles in for the first unplanned practice in the Redskins’ Indoor Training Facility, you might as well take advantage of the break and watch some videos from the start of practice.

Golston Excited About D-Line Depth

To have a top defense in the NFL, a team must have continuity and depth — two things defensive lineman Kedric Golston believes the Redskins have plenty of heading into the 2012 season.
Redskins.com TV caught up with Golston after Thursday’s round of organized team activities.

Golston Gives Redskins More D-Line Depth

Yesterday, the Redskins announced the return of defensive lineman Kedric Golston, who rejoins the team after an injury-shortened 2011 season. Even though he did not start any games last season, he was an integral rotation member on the defensive line, and filled the gap left by injured rookie Jarvis Jenkins.
Golston has been an offseason fixture at Redskins Park, rehabbing his MCL and ACL injuries, while working out and getting stronger with the training staff. Building strength is no mystery to Golston, who was awarded 2005 Leon Farmer Strength and Conditioning Award at Georgia.
According to Georgia’s athletic site:
The award is given annually to the player whose dedication to the strength and conditioning program results in a significant contribution to the football team. Past winners include David Pollack in 2004, Ben Watson in 2003, Will Witherspoon in 2001 and Richard Seymour in 2000.

Carriker Excited; Warmly Welcomed Back

Not many players dress up in three-piece suits to sign a new contract with their football team. Not many players are as excited to come back as defensive end Adam Carriker:

The last several times I spoke to defensive end Adam Carriker before free agency, I always asked if he thought he was coming back to D.C.? And his answer was always the same: I want to, but I just don’t know yet.
But in the early hours of free agency last Tuesday, the Redskins made the push to finish the deal and bring back an important piece to the defensive line. Now that he’s been back, he has filled his amazing Twitter account with all kinds of employer enthusiasm:
