Portsmouth Sen. Louise Lucas enlisted the help of her famous nephew and two of his friends to turn the tide in an annual basketball game between the Virginia Senate and the House in Richmond, Va.

According to the Virginian-Pilot, DeAngelo Hall agreed to play for his aunt’s team and represent the Senate for the second year. After suffering a defeat last year, Hall called in the cavalry and guaranteed a win before the game.

With help from David Amerson and Joshua Morgan, the Senate overcame a 19-8 halftime deficit and defeated the House, 29-27, at the Siegel Center in Richmond Tuesday, the same day Hall announced his return to the Redskins on Twitter. Read more »

If you were to mine the 2013 season for silver linings, rookie tight end Jordan Reed‘s emergence would be a solid place to start digging.

In an article published Thursday, NFL Media Analyst Elliot Harrison named the Florida product as the best tight end in the NFL younger than 25. Reed was the only Washington player on the list, but there are several productive Redskins who have yet to see their car insurance premiums decline. Read more »

What Went Right: Redskins Chargers

Posted by Gabe Hiatt on November 4, 2013 – 12:55 pm

Highlight: Darrel Young bangs into the end zone from 4 yards out, ending overtime and delivering a win.

What went right: Power football. The offensive line is fast off the ball, delivering a push at the line of scrimmage. Young takes the quick handoff and sees a crease up the middle. The fullback slips behind Kory Lichtensteiger and follows the lane created by two athletic linemen sealing off the next level. Will Montgomery ties up linebacker Bront Bird. Tackle Tyler Polumbus puts linebacker Andrew Gachkar on skates. Young finishes through contact and falls forward for a touchdown.
