WOW Hosts Ladies Night Out
Giuliana Rancic Talks Growing Up A Redskins Fan

Redskins tight end Niles Paul was a fan favorite Tuesday night when “Women of Washington Redskins” hosted their third Ladies Night Out event of the season.

Paul, along with wide receiver Andre Roberts and punter Tress Way, took his group of ladies through different football drills and a flag football game before stopping to pose for selfies with some of the attendees.

He later helped dress one of the equipment models with his uniform and pads and answered a few funny questions from the crowd. For instance, his favorite post game meal is a McDonald’s quarter-pounder with cheese. He took to Instagram to share his night.

A brief scuffle during practice today between wide receiver Andre Roberts and cornerback Bashaud Breeland was ultimately a small matter.

Roberts took to Twitter this afternoon affirming his good spirits and strong relationship with Breeland, using his positive energy to look towards Sunday’s matchup against the New York Giants.

Coach Jay Gruden addressed the incident Wednesday.

“You don’t want fights at practice, but guys are a little frustrated and things happen when football players are competing,” he said. “I like the competitive nature of guys competing at practice, one-on-ones. We had some good, competitive team drills today, but that was a rarity. That doesn’t happen very often and we addressed it.”

Colt McCoy, Andre Roberts Make Top Plays Of The Week

Posted by Jake Kring-Schreifels on December 2, 2014 – 1:35 pm

It was pretty clear that once Washington Redskins quarterback Colt McCoy started dodging Indianapolis Colts tacklers, he was going to make a big-time play. After impossibly eluding three defenders, he had enough presence to look downfield and find his tight end Logan Paulsen for an easy score.

“The smart play probably would have been to throw it away,” said McCoy after the game. “But at point in the game, we needed a touchdown, we needed a spark, something. We found a way in and I’m happy that Logan scored.”

The effort notched him the No. 1 play of Week 13 according to NFL AM.

Close behind was another pass play this time with wide receiver Andre Roberts, who made a tightrope grab by the sideline ending in a superb catch. That earned him the fourth spot on NFL.com’s Top 5 catches of the week.

Kappa Alpha Psi Has Strong Redskins Connections

Posted by Andrew Walker on August 10, 2014 – 9:38 pm

Founded more than 100 years ago on the campus of Indiana University, the Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity boasts a rich history of brotherhood and leadership across the country – and around the world.

Over the span of a century, Kappa Alpha Psi has produced almost 200,000 collegiate members at more than 700 chapters across the globe.

So it should probably come as no surprise that the Redskins currently have several Kappas amongst them.

Those Kappas had a reunion of sorts Saturday afternoon at the Redskins’ training camp practice at the Bon Secours Washington Redskins Training Center in Richmond, Va.

Kirk Cousins Switches Back To Trusty No. 8

Kirk Cousins Holland 8

There’s been lots of chatter lately about Redskins uniform numbers — who’s wearing what, who’s not wearing what, who wants to wear what, etc. — so this topic certainly isn’t just simple offseason fodder (and see the bottom of this post for more uniform number updates, including DeSean Jackson’s).

But when two players make an arrangement for a uniform number that benefits children, well, that’s just the deal of all deals.

That’s what’s happened between third-year Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins and recently-acquired wide receiver Andre Roberts

Pierre Garçon Goes Yard In The Cage

Posted by Gabe Hiatt on March 31, 2014 – 11:19 am

Pierre Garçon could not receive the Sammy Baugh trophy in person.

The NFL’s 2014 receptions leader had Doug Williams accept the award in Washington, D.C., while he took a break from passing camp to practice walkoff cuts with the Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field.

Ian Desmond and Bryce Harper of the Washington Nationals were impressed.

Roberts One Of NFL’s ‘Best’ Signings

Posted by Gabe Hiatt on March 17, 2014 – 12:29 pm

The first wave of free agency musical chairs has ended, which means the evaluations have already begun.

One of Washington’s first moves since the league year began on March 11 has drawn praise from at least one expert. NFL Media Around The League writer Marc Sessler named signing Roberts one of the best free agent deals through Saturday.

By signing Roberts, a fifth-year wide receiver who can play all over the field, the Redskins eschewed a splashy name for a young player still growing into his prime. Oh, he can write, too.  Read more »
