AccuScore Projects ‘Skins-‘Hawks Game

AccuScore is back for the playoffs this week with some wacky statistical projections and predictions for today’s NFC Wild Card round game between the Washington Redskins and the Seattle Seahawks.

Last Sunday, AccuScore had the Redskins winning in 51 percent of its 10,000 computer simulations against the Dallas Cowboys. This time around, with two of the hottest teams in the league matching up against each other in the playoffs at FedExField, Washington has even more of a battle on its hands.

This week’s AccuScore projections have much to do with the rushing attack of the two teams. If either team is able to take advantage of their elusive quarterbacks — the Redskins’ Robert Griffin III and the Seahawks’ Russell Wilson — and match it with some hard running from their running backs — Alfred Morris for Washington and Marshawn Lynch for Seattle — then their odds of winning dramatically increase.

Here’s the highlights of today’s AccuScore predictions for Redskins-Seahawks, according to ESPN:

AccuScore Projects ‘Skins-Cowboys Game

AccuScore is back this week for the final time in the 2012 regular season with some wacky statistical projections and predictions for tonight’s game between the Washington Redskins and the Dallas Cowboys.

Last Sunday, AccuScore had the Redskins winning in 60 percent of its 10,000 computer simulations against the lowly Philadelphia Eagles. This time around, with the NFC East title on the line, the game is expected to be much closer.

This week’s AccuScore projections have much to do with the rushing attack of the Redskins. If running back Alfred Morris is able to out-duel Cowboys running back DeMarco Murrary — and if Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III can put together a nice day scrambling with the ball — then Washington’s chances of winning increase dramatically.

Here’s the highlights of today’s AccuScore predictions for Redskins-Cowboys, according to ESPN:

AccuScore Projects ‘Skins-Eagles Game

AccuScore is back this week with some wacky statistical projections and predictions for today’s game between the Washington Redskins and the Philadelphia Eagles.

Last Sunday, AccuScore had the Redskins winning in 51 percent of its 10,000 computer simulations against the Cleveland Browns. This time around, the Redskins are favored considerably more.

This week’s AccuScore projections have much to do with the play of Eagles rookie quarterback Nick Foles. Foles had his struggles the first time he played the Redskins, but if he can cut out many of the same mistakes, his team’s chances of winning drastically improve.

Here’s the highlights of today’s AccuScore predictions for Redskins-Browns, according to ESPN:

AccuScore Projects ‘Skins-Browns Game

AccuScore is back this week with some wacky statistical projections and predictions for today’s game between the Washington Redskins and the Cleveland Browns.

Last Sunday, AccuScore had the Redskins winning in 51 percent of its 10,000 computer simulations against the Ravens. For the Redskins-Browns game, it’s the exact same outcome — even though Washington is the away team this time around.

Not surprisingly, AccuScore’s projections have a lot to do with two major factors: if quarterback Robert Griffin III is under center for the Redskins, and how effective running back Alfred Morris is compared to his fellow rookie running back on the Browns, Trent Richardson.

Well, we already know that the Redskins announced last night that rookie Kirk Cousins will, instead, start at quarterback for Griffin III, who is nursing a sprained LCL in his right knee.

Here’s the highlights of today’s AccuScore predictions for Redskins-Browns, according to ESPN:

AccuScore is back this week with some wacky statistical projections and predictions for today’s game between the Washington Redskins and the Baltimore Ravens.

Last Monday, AccuScore had the New York Giants winning in 51 percent of its 10,000 computer simulations against the Redskins. For the Redskins-Ravens game, it’s the exact same outcome — only the Redskins are projected to win this time around.

Not surprisingly, AccuScore’s projections have a lot to do with how quarterbacks Robert Griffin III and Joe Flacco perform today.

Here’s the highlights of today’s AccuScore predictions for Redskins-Ravens, according to ESPN:

AccuScore Projects ‘Skins-Giants Game

It’s hard tellin’ who will come out victorious late tonight after the Washington Redskins and the New York Giants do battle on Monday Night Football.

The Giants (7-4), of course, are the current leaders of the NFC East Division and are the reigning Super Bowl champions. The Redskins (5-6), meanwhile, are winners of two straight, and appear to have some momentum on their side.

The computers at AccuScore also appear to be indecisive about tonight’s game, as they have the Giants as just 51-percent favorites.

But if Robert Griffin III and Alfred Morris find success running the ball against the Giants — much like they did in their Week 7 matchup — then the Redskins are considered overwhelming favorites.

Here’s the highlights of today’s AccuScore predictions for Redskins-Giants, according to ESPN:

AccuScore Projects ‘Skins-Eagles Game

The focus for many going into today’s game between the Washington Redskins and the Philadelphia Eagles is the battle of rookie quarterbacks Robert Griffin III and Nick Foles.

Griffin III has been the starter the entire season for the Redskins (3-6) and had taken the league by storm with his ability to make plays with his arm and his legs. Foles, meanwhile, is getting his first-career start today for the Eagles (3-6), as Michael Vick is out with a concussion.

Though this is certainly an intriguing storyline, the computers at AccuScore feel the running game will play a much bigger factor into the final score of today’s game.

Here’s the highlights of today’s AccuScore predictions for Redskins-Eagles, according to ESPN:

AccuScore Projects ‘Skins-Steelers Game

Posted by Andrew Walker on October 28, 2012 – 9:00 am

The computers at AccuScore don’t seem to really think Washington can go into Pittsburgh today and get a win. But the two teams will play regardless.

Anyway, the majority of AccuScore’s projections for today’s game between the Redskins (3-4) and the Steelers (3-3) have to do with the team’s two quarterbacks: Robert Griffin III and Ben Roethlisberger.

Overall, the Steelers won 71 percent of 10,000 AccuScore simulations of today’s game. But those odds go the Redskins way if Griffin III can have a monster game.

That makes sense, right?

Here’s the highlights of today’s AccuScore predictions for Redskins-Steelers, according to ESPN:

AccuScore Projects ‘Skins-Giants Game

Posted by Andrew Walker on October 21, 2012 – 7:59 am

The computers at AccuScore apparently aren’t too confident that the Redskins can go into MetLife Stadium today and pull out a win against the New York Giants.

The Redskins open up NFC East Division play with the matchup against the defending Super Bowl champion Giants (4-2), who are coming off a very satisfying and dominant win over the San Francisco 49ers at Candlestick Park.

But the Redskins (3-3) are also coming off an impressive 38-26 win over the Minnesota Vikings last Sunday, who entered the game at 4-1 and were leading the NFC North.

But, it’s always fun to throw both teams into the computer and see what wacky statistics and results are shot back out, which is exactly what AccuScore does each week.

Here’s the highlights of today’s AccuScore predictions for Redskins-Giants, according to ESPN:

AccuScore Projects ‘Skins-Vikes Outcome

AccuScore — one of the industry’s leaders in sports projections and simulations — has determined that if the Washington Redskins win the ground game in today’s game, then they have a 77-percent chance of winning.

It’s just one of those wacky math things that I’ll never understand.

Anyway, ESPN has a video out with various projections and predictions for today’s Redskins-Vikings game, which kicks off at 4:25 p.m. from FedExField.

What’s the best of all the projections you ask?
