About a month and a half ago, Washington Redskins head coach Jay Gruden arrived at the Bon Secours Washington Redskins Training Center in Richmond for the first time and was in awe over the facility’s capabilities and features.

Not only can it and will it hold thousands of loyal Redskins supporters, but he also loves that the facility features multiple practice fields, a full sized weight room and more.

Gruden chatted with the media following Wednesday’s pre-training camp conditioning test and touched on player health, quarterback Robert Griffin III, his thoughts before his first training camp as a head coach and more.

Quick hits from the head man’s press conference via the Redskins’ Twitter account (@Redskins):

With one day until the start of training camp, Redskins Blog provides photos of DeSean Jackson (No. 1 practice jersey) during OTAs.

He’ll be there for a split second and then next thing you know — gone.

Perhaps the biggest free agency coup — along with the team’s acquisition of Jason Hatcher who spent his entire career with the Cowboys before March — was DeSean Jackson leaving Philly for the Nation’s Capital.

Over the coming days, months and years, we’ll be witnesses to Jackson’s one of a kind speed. But, before his Redskins career really takes off, have a look back at his offseason activity practice photos.

206 days. That’s how long its been since the Washington Redskins played a game.

While the players won’t take the field to play any opposition for a full 60-minute game until August 7 (New England Patriots at FedExField), they are in Richmond to start the 2014 season with training camp. Starting tomorrow, the players will give it their all on the Bon Secours Training Center practices field, hoping to lay that first brick to an eventual NFC East crown–the second in three seasons–and more.

Over the last few hours, some of the players have taken to social media exclaiming their joy of being back in the Commonwealth’s capital city to get it going again.

Have a look at what they’ve been saying below (click on Instagram photos for complete captions):

Griffin III created the football camp as part of his “Family of 3 Initiative“–an effort to give back to the same Washington, D.C. area that has been so supportive of him since being drafted by the Redskins in 2012.

22 years after leading the Washington Redskins to a convincing win in Super Bowl XXVI over the Buffalo Bills and 25 years after winning the inaugural American Century Championship, Redskins legend Mark Rypien took home the golf championship trophy again yesterday in Tahoe, NV.

His entrance into the winner’s circle took a little longer than expected, as rain caused hours of delay. But, coming out of the break, Rypien distanced himself from the pack with a eagle-birdie-birdie performance on holes 16-18.

More on his tournament victory:
