Twitter, for all of its negativity, can be an amazing place to find random things.
Take yesterday, for instance, when the Sports Illustrated Vault Twitter account asked for photo requests from fans to challenge their digital archive digging team.
On the surface, the requests were pretty out there, like this one posted by Hugh Perry.
Good luck with that one, right? Well, apparently, anything is possible, and that possibility led to finding legendary running back John Riggins sitting in his other natural environment, fishing line in hand, on a boat, with a not-quite-so-big gold fish attached.
If you’ve followed Riggins recently, you know he’s an avid outdoorsman and had his own show, “Riggo on the Range,” on the Sportsman Channel. He told me in December that he’s also still deer hunting.
The gold fish isn’t necessarily the kind of thrill Hugh Murray was looking for. But, considering how great this shot is, I don’t think he seemed to mind.
