ESPN will continue its “Trailblazers: Past, Present, Future” series tomorrow night with a feature on Ohio State quarterback Cardale Jones speaking with former Redskins quarterback and Super Bowl XXII MVP Doug Williams.

Anchor Jay Harris will moderate the conversation as part of the one-hour program, starting Sunday night at 7 p.m.

The show, celebrating Black History Month, is set to the theme of the 50th anniversary of the historic Selma, Ala., march. It features current African-American sports stars teaming with living legends for intimate conversations on challenges that they have overcome.

Young athlete Mo’ne Davis, Olympian Jackie Joyner-Kersee and hockey players P.K. Subban and Willie O’Ree will also be featured during the special.

In the trailer, Williams is shown discussing Jones’ infamous tweet about attending classes last year, saying, “Whatever you do now, you’re going to have an impact on a whole lot of people.”

Tune in tomorrow to catch more of his advice and undoubtedly some good stories from Williams’ playing days.

Freddie Mercury, the lead singer of Queen, wasn’t necessarily a huge sports fan.

Yesterday, however, we saw this tweet that proved he had at least an affiliation with football, and possibly the Redskins.

The pose, with football in hand and sunglasses, is pretty epic, as expected. But check out that box in the corner with the Redskins logos. An effort was clearly made by the photographer to make sure it was in frame.

In regards to “We Are The Champions,” one of his many hit songs, Mercury once said that football was his inspiration for it.

“I was thinking about football when I wrote it,” he said. “I wanted a participation song, something that the fans could latch on to. Of course, I’ve given it more theatrical subtlety than an ordinary football chant. I suppose it could also be construed as my version of ‘I Did It My Way.’ We have made it, and it certainly wasn’t easy. No bed of roses as the song says. And it’s still not easy.”

The song was also paired with “We Will Rock You,” one of the all-time sports anthems.

We’re not sure of the photo’s date, but we’re happy it was taken.

It has been quite the week for Rich Bruno, noted podiatrist and diehard Redskins fan.

Bruno won the bidding on Robert Griffin III’s signed cast late last week, with the proceeds going to Griffin III’s “Family Of 3” Foundation,  and wrote on Facebook that, in some ways, receiving a prize like this had been his dream.

“All of my loves in life had combined into a singular moment,” he wrote. “I squealed like a school girl thinking about how one day, maybe I could be that specialist a player sees. It makes me want to be my very best.”

One of his only concerns, understandably, was how the cast might smell. Apparently, fresh from the mail, there is no odor to complain about as he replied to some fans’ queries.

And as for where the cast might go? He took care of that question once he heard the news that he had outbid everyone.
