It’s never easy to schedule relatives in one place around the holidays or for family gatherings, let alone in the same pose and clothes as previous years.

But these four family members did just that.

Check out this awesome juxtaposition of Redskins fans. Once little guys with burgundy and gold coats able to fit on Santa’s lap, they re-enacted the same scene now grown up, hovering around Santa with matching Redskins jackets.

Have your families done something similar with Redskins gear? Send your photos to us here.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. has been on an extensive press tour as he prepares to defend his Daytona 500 title next week.

That’s meant chatting on radio shows, visiting Twitter’s offices in New York and appearing on television interviews (he’ll join “Redskins Nation” on Friday).

His latest promotional pit stop was on ESPN’s “Pardon The Interruption,” where he discussed the upcoming race and the relationship he has with his pit crew. But he ended the interview with his thoughts on the upcoming Redskins season.

“We do [have] a new GM, who has got a lot of street credibility,” Earnhardt Jr. said. “He’s done a lot of good things with the teams he’s worked with in the past. I hope that he can be a positive influence on our Redskins. We’re going to take a few years to get where we want to go, whether we build through the draft or through free agency. I think that it would be wise for us to do some good things in the draft. It’s been a while since we’ve had a great draft and got a lot of young players on the team.”

Then, displaying his diehard nature, he analyzed the current team and offered some suggestions for the offseason.

“Every offseason is a reason to begin hoping, and looking at all the changes and finding ways to get excited about the next season,” he said. “You’ve just got to buy in. It’s going to be a real challenge. There is a lot of talent on the team, but we’ve got to fix the offensive line and the secondary and the defense needs a little help on the safety side, too. We’ve got some young corners who I think are going to be great but we need some safety help.”

Maybe used to celebrities that have a vague interest in their sports teams, hosts Tony Kornheiser and Michael Wilbon seemed unprepared for Earnhardt’s detailed report card.

“He sounds like he’s been in the office watching film!” Wilbon shouted.

Knowing Earnhardt Jr., that’s not so much a compliment than a statement of fact.

Over the coming weeks, The Redskins Blog will be providing you with a different look at the franchise’s past.

Unlike Throwback Thursday where we’ve looked at important moments on the gridiron against an upcoming opponent, this series will examine some of the lighter moments as we go through all of the photos stored at Redskins Park in Loudoun County, Va.

As we’ve searched through the photo files over the last month, it’s become clear that Redskins coaches enjoyed having their photos taken in the more obscure parts of Redskins Park.

This one for instance — taken on July 22, 1982 — features legendary head coach Joe Gibbs having a private chat with the equipment manager Jay Brunetti in one of the walk-in closets at the old Redskins Park.

One of the things that’s fascinating with these shots, which also include the ones taken in the bathroom, is how the given photographer received access to these more intimate meetings.

Because there is no caption for this photo, the topic of discussion is left to our imagination.

What would Gibbs be telling Brunetti?

Keep in mind training camp was likely right around the corner and equipment would need to be packed up properly. It wouldn’t be hard to believe the two are determining how all those pads and helmets should get transported and identified.

What’s more out of date: the helmet face masks or the short shorts?

Maybe you like them, maybe you don’t.

Horror movies certainly aren’t for everyone, but a well-produced one can be quite entertaining.

Washington Redskins safety Akeem Davis was on the set of “Redskins Late Night” on the days leading up to Halloween 2014. So, topical to all of the spookiness that surrounds the annual holiday, host Chris Paul asked Davis who his favorite horror movie characters are.

“It’s got to be Chuckie, man,” Davis said. “And then, too, I like Jason off ‘Friday The 13th.’ I like that guy as well. You know, tough guy, hard to kill. Cant’ run from him.”

As for the horror movies he doesn’t like, Davis admitted that anything to do with people becoming possessed kinda freak him out.

“It’s always old people and kids,” he told Paul of not liking those movies. “That’s creepy to me. Kids and old people.”

Take a break from your offseason workouts really quick, Robert, and have a slice of birthday cake!

That’s right Redskins Nation, Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III is celebrating his birthday today.

Griffin III, of course, was selected with the second-overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft and in his first season led the Redskins to their first NFC East title since 1999.

In three seasons wearing burgundy and gold, Griffin III has thrown for 8,097 yards and 40 touchdowns while also adding 1,480 yards and eight touchdowns on the ground.

Griffin III has been very hard at work recently as he prepares for the 2015 season.

In fact, as seen on his social media yesterday, Griffin III’s been working out as much as three times a day.

Also, here’s some of the birthday love being sprinkled on Griffin III today:

The Redskins Blog continues it’s look at the wonderful work Ed Sabol did during his illustrious career by featuring this piece NFL Films did on Vince Lombardi’s lone season in Washington.

Hired before the 1969 season, Lombardi, as seen in the video above, wanted to make the Redskins winners right away.

He did, leading the burgundy and gold to a 7-5-2 record — their first winning season since 1955.

What’s also interesting to see beyond just executing on Sundays under Lombardi, was the attention to detail the team employed in the months leading up to the season.

Quarterback Sonny Jurgensen came into training camp in the best shape of his life, while linebacker Sam Huff returned after a year away from the game.

Check back with The Redskins Blog tomorrow as we’ll have more on the 1972 team through footage captured by NFL Films.
