Running back Silas Redd has been pretty active on Twitter recently.

Each morning, in honor Black History Month, Redd has posted, and will continue to post, photos of black figures who have made an impact throughout history.

“[I’m] just showing respect to the black pioneers who paved the way for the generations after them,” Redd wrote to The Redskins Blog. “These black men and women fought for so much…they fought for equality and success in whatever field that I’m just showing my appreciation.”

Check out a few of the people Redd has chosen to honor so far.

If you remember, earlier this week wide receiver Pierre Garçon posted an Instagram video when he first arrived to the United Arab Emirates.

He asked people to guess his location — keeping it a secret — based on the beach front and palm trees he captured, which could be confused for any warm climate city.

Name that city 👀

Some guessed Miami or Port-au-Prince, but soon some natives figured out his mystery.

Eventually he posted more photos that showed off different parts of the city, including a map citing his location in relation to Palm Jumeirah, the artificial archipelago, one of three planned islands called “The Palm Islands.”

It was just recently named a “must-see architectural wonder” by Expedia. Garcon can cross it off the bucket list.

😂😂😂😂

“I know who he is,” new Redskins quarterbacks coach Matt Cavanuagh said of Super Bowl XXII MVP Doug Williams.

He knows him quite well, actually.

Yesterday, during a segment on “Redskins Nation,” Larry Michael, Voice of the Redskins, asked Cavanaugh about his familiarity with the coaching staff and received this historical nugget.

“Doug and I came out [of college] the same year,” Cavanaugh said. “When I was down in Mobile, Ala., at the Senior Bowl it hit me that 37 years ago he and I were on opposing teams.”

Cavanaugh guided undefeated Pitt to the 1976 National Championship and was named the Sugar Bowl MVP after a 27-3 victory over Georgia. He completed 10-of-18 passes for 192 yards and a touchdown along with a rushing score and continued his success through his senior year.

The New England Patriots selected him in the second-round of the 1978 NFL Draft.

Meanwhile, Williams had an incredible senior season, too, at Grambling State and finished fourth in the Heisman voting that year.

In his career as a starter, Williams led Grambling to a 35-5 record, winning two Southwestern Athletic Conference championships before the Buccaneers drafted him in the first round, 33 spots before Cavanaugh.

The two star quarterbacks briefly shared a field. Now, they’ll share the same team.

Adam Hayward knows what kind of patience is takes to grow a pretty good beard.

But, while he sported a pretty impressive beard during the season, Hayward admitted on “Redskins Late Night” that occasionally he gets “beard envy” when he sees Chris Neild.

Neild, of course, has one of the best beards around, as it’s long, thick and devoid of patchiness.

“I’ve asked him over and over and over how mine can get like that,” Hayward said. “Cause mine kinda has…it’s a little thin here and here. I want that big, thick beard. I want that long Duck Dynasty all the way down to my belly beard.”

Kinda like this from Halloween (Hayward is on the right of the photo):

As for the “Redskins Late Night” Beard Battle, who do you think has the best look between Hayward, Neild, Jason Hatcher and Niles Paul?
