Over the coming weeks, The Redskins Blog will be providing you with a different look at the franchise’s past.

Unlike Throwback Thursday where we’ve looked at important moments on the gridiron against an upcoming opponent, this series will examine some of the lighter moments as we go through all of the photos stored at Redskins Park in Loudoun County, Va.

This photo of Redskins head coach Jack Pardee, taken October 22, 1978, looks relaxing and uncomfortable at the same time. Unfortunately for him, there don’t appear to be many chairs as equipment is packed up for a road trip.

Pardee coached the Redskins from 1978-80, leading the team to within one game of the playoffs in 1979 and played an All-Pro season for them at linebacker in 1971.

Some questions to consider from this photo…

— Why is Pardee reading a magazine in a seemingly empty locker room?

— Why isn’t he using the stool to sit?

— What magazine is he reading?

— Where is the team?

This photo is bizarrely fitting when you consider these Instagram posts today from quarterback Robert Griffin III and safety Duke Ihenacho. I suppose putting your feet up is worth it, regardless of where you’re laying down.

The work never stops!!! Who said you couldn't watch film and have fun socks on? #sockswag

Last July, the Redskins invited Mike Justice to experience some VIP treatment during Training Camp. He loved every minute of it.

A Virginia Beach native working for a German telecommunications company in Dubai, Justice made the extremely long trip to come back home and catch his favorite team in action. Six months later, his fandom has taken new heights, quite literally.

Check out the latest photos he tweeted — presumably not while plummeting to the earth– repping the Redskins from the sky.

The incredible rush also provoked him to reach out to running back Alfred Morris and lend him an invitation to spend part of his offseason in sunny Dubai.

Just as the The Redskins Blog did yesterday with ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. and Todd McShay, today we take a look at what NFL.com’s Daniel Jeremiah has in mind for the Redskins at the fifth-overall selection in this year’s NFL Draft.

And just like Kiper Jr. and McShay who believe Randy Gregory and Shane Ray are fits for the Redskins, Jeremiah is thinking defensive end at this pick, only he sees USC’s Leonard Williams donning burgundy and gold one day.

In three full seasons at USC, Williams recorded 247 tackles and 20 sacks according to CFBstats.com.

As a freshman, Williams, playing defensive tackle, recorded 64 tackles, eight sacks and one interception to earn Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year honors.

In his sophomore season, Williams recorded 74 tackles and six sacks while also recovering two fumbles,

He then earned the following postseason recognition:

–ESPN.com All-American first team
Lindy’s All-American second team
–AP All-American third team
–CBSSports.com All-American third team
–Athlon All-American third team
–Phil Steele All-American fourth team
–SI.com All-American honorable mention
–All-Pac-12 first team
–USC’s Defensive Lineman of the Year

Then, as a junior, he recorded 80 tackles with seven sacks while being selected as an All-American by several media outlets.

After the 2014 season concluded, Williams announced his intentions to enter the NFL Draft on Dec. 29.

Redskins wide receiver Pierre Garcon is proud to Haitian. That much is clear.

He’ll be taking his flag’s pride to the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nev., this Saturday to cheer on Bermane Stiverne — the first ever world heavyweight boxing champion of Haitian descent.

Garcon will be in attendance for what is being billed as the most significant heavyweight matchup in over a decade in the United States, as Stiverne gets set to fight unbeaten challenger Deontay Wilder.

The bout will take place at 10 pm and air on Showtime.

Yessir shoutout to that Zoe. We in there this weekend representing #OnMyFlagThatRedAndBlue 🔵🔴

The week inevitably has made Garcon a little nostalgic, posting “Timehop” photos of his friends in a Haitian grocery store:

Shoutout to them Zoes back in Haiti holding it down for me #timehop

In November we detailed Garcon’s connection with Haiti and his devastation during the 2010 earthquake that hit Port-au-Prince.

“When I heard the news about the earthquake, I was actually in Indianapolis,” Garcon said on the NFL’s six-part Journeys series. “Ever since then, it was just watching CNN and just trying to get information when it happened. It was already hard to get communication down in Haiti, because not everyone has a cell phone at that point.

“They reached my mom, my family, my sisters and let them know that they were OK. …I wasn’t just thinking about my family, I was thinking about everybody.”

Shoutout to all my Haitian people and everybody showing me love every weekend.

We’re happy to provide you with this photo from Dale Earnhardt Jr.

The NASCAR driver and Redskins fan posted this throwback on Twitter with him and his mother, back in mid-1980s.

You’ve got to love his John Riggins jersey and his ability to remember that it was taken during Charlotte Race week.
