—Niles Paul Provides His High School With New Jerseys
Washington Redskins tight end Niles Paul received quite the honor on Friday evening at North High School in Omaha, Neb. — his football jersey was retired alongside some of the other greats to pass through the school’s doors.
“What a great honor it was to have my jersey retired tonight by my former high school Omaha North. I am forever grateful & blessed to have went to a school where there were amazing coaches & teachers who helped keep me focused on the ultimate goal,” Paul captioned the Instagram photo.
While it’s been years since he put on a No. 21 jersey, he has remained quite close to the school while in Washington.
In November, as The Redskins Blog noted, Paul provided the current squad with a second set of jerseys and some accessories including cleats and gloves.
This came after he gave a first set of jerseys in 2013.
“There are a lot of kids in that school who don’t have a lot,” he said at time time. “We all come from less fortunate backgrounds. I played my whole high school career with one pair of shoes and one pair of cleats the whole time, so I just wanted to make sure that everybody didn’t have to deal with the same problem.”
