Robert Griffin III has been busy since returning to his home in Copperas Cove, Texas.
It’s allowed him to attend the Cotton Bowl, revisit his childhood bedroom and, maybe most importantly, pay a special visit to two people in need.
Griffin III posted to social media on Wednesday a photo tribute to his friend Will Mallow, whose parents were both recently placed in the same nursing home facility.
Will’s father, David, has been battling lung cancer that was diagnosed last year.
Will’s mother, Margarita, recently joined him in the same nursing home after falling and being knocked unconscious. While at the hospital, doctors found she had temporary kidney failure that nearly ended her life.
In five days, however, remarkably, her kidneys began to function properly and she will be released soon.
Griffin III and his wife took the opportunity to visit both of Will’s parents, stopping by the nursing home as a surprise to bring flowers and cake and some momentary joy.
As Griffin III repeats in caption: Family is special. Family is there. Family is forever.
