William Hogue thought the 50/50 raffle price– 40 tickets for $20 dollars– was pretty good as he tailgated in the parking lot outside of FedExField before the Redskins-Cowboys game Sunday.
He and his four other friends ended up with the winning $16,000 dollar ticket. Good indeed.
Over the course of the day, volunteers from the Make-A-Wish Foundation Mid-Atlantic Chapter helped the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation around stadium by selling raffle tickets.
Funds raised through the raffle will aid Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic in granting wishes to enrich the lives of children with life-threatening medical illnesses.
The day, as noted by Hogue’s sizable winning ticket, was a giant success and the 50,000 tickets sold will tremendously help Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic.
As for Hogue, who attended his first Redskins game yesterday, he’s not sure what to spend his gift on just yet but hinted he’ll probably start saving it.
