–Jackson Jeffcoat Senses Urgency With Roster Promotion
Rishaw Johnson is a big man.
The Redskins signed the 6-foot-4, 315-pound guard Tuesday to the active roster to fill the vacancy left by linebacker Trent Murphy, who was placed on season-ending Injured Reserve with a broken right hand.
Johnson started out at the University of Mississippi before transferring to California University of Pennsylvania.
He went undrafted in 2012, but later had brief stints with the Seahawks, Cowboys, Buccaneers, Packers and Chiefs, while spending most of this year on the Giants’ practice squad.
He has three games of NFL experience playing with Kansas City, and could be needed Sunday as the Redskins try to sure up the injured parts of their roster.
