It was all about the Washington Redskins in the core of the Big Apple Saturday evening, as Redskins Nation joined together at both Dorrian’s Red Hand and The Australian.

Fans were able to meet President and general manager Bruce Allen, while team legend Rick “Doc” Walker also was in attendance.

Walker, of course, played with the team from 1980 and 1985, winning a Super Bowl title with the team during the 1982 season. He is currently a fixture on the sidelines during each game for the Redskins Broadcast Network, and also co-hosts the daily show “Inside The Locker Room” on ESPN 980.

#HTTR T-shirts were handed out at the both locations, and several lucky attendees also came away with some exclusive Redskins prizes, such as an autographed memorabilia.

Legendary Washington Redskins running back John Riggins provided fans passing by the Tysons Corner Mall team store the unique opportunity to get an autograph and chat with the Super Bowl XVII MVP Saturday afternoon.

Riggins, a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, sat with sharpies and signed jerseys, posters, and footballs for those who purchased tickets. For many, Riggins’ game-clinching 4th-and-inches touchdown run against the Dolphins has solidified their fandom and became a canonized play in their sports history.

As a fan brought him the poster of the iconic run, Riggins, who played for the Redskins from 1976-1985, joked that the image had been reproduced so much that now you can’t see Dolphins head coach Don Shula’s angry face in the background.

“Some of [people’s] greatest moments are wrapped around their football team. To be a part of that is pretty special,” Riggins told the Redskins Blog. “You get to meet a lot of interesting people so that’s what makes it kind of fun and seeing how you’ve impacted a lot of lives. I never think of it that way, but the truth of the matter is, it does happen.”

Whenever former Washington Redskins running back Clinton Portis gets in front of the camera, you know something unusual is going to go down.

And while he wasn’t Coach Janky Spanky or Sheriff Gonna Getcha on the set of SportNation Friday, Portis was wearing what appears to be an old school leather football helmet.

Now earlier this week — outlandish attire not included — Portis was in Charlotte, NC., where he presented the Bronko Nagurski Trophy.

You can read more about that here.

The defensive backs are a tightly knit group.

Often seen huddling together at their lockers after practices and getting each other pumped up on gamedays through a ‘Bad Boys’ pregame routine, Redskins cornerbacks and safeties love each other like family.

On Friday night, two days before they take on a New York Giants offense that features a highly-talented rookie wide receiver, they were eating dinner together, taking their support for one another off the field.

Thanks to safety Brandon Meriweather for the photo!
