Linebacker Will Compton got a taste of what it might be to hold his first child.

Yesterday he met his Godson, Kellen Ray Fields, for the first time after arriving back home in Missouri.

Compton, who played for the Huskers, can rest assured Kellen will grow up wearing the proper team apparel.

Quarterback Kirk Cousins had to say goodbye yesterday to a very dear friend.

After being a foster parent to his adopted dog of four months, Cousins tweeted out a photo of them together for one last time.

He was able to find a permanent home for the rescue this week, acting as a necessary bridge between owners.

It’s also worth mentioning that noted Redskins fan Channing Tatum has made efforts to find homes for rescue animals, most recently when he helped host the “Cause for Paws” television drive around Thanksgiving.

Here’s a picture of him and his wife.

WWE wrestler Luke Harper cleans up pretty well, especially with a Redskins shirt on.

Harper is normally seen on TV wrestling in a dirty and ripped shirt, flannel vest and worn out jeans, but late Tuesday evening, a few Twitterverse members shared the above photo of Harper with his son.

Just to compare his normal look with his much better one supporting the Redskins, check out this photo of him via WWE.com:

Kinda creepy.

Harper, by the way, isn’t alone when it comes to being a Redskins fan in the WWE locker room.

Joey Mercury took this photo, Redskins hat included, while in England earlier this year:

It’s a good time to be a car owner.

Gas prices have dropped significantly within the last couple of months letting drivers hit the highway without having to worry about their bank accounts taking a big hit.

Quarterback Kirk Cousins is the most recent beneficiary after posting this sub-$2 dollar gas price listing as he road-tripped home.

Of course, he wasn’t the only one who began to drive home after cleaning out his locker.

Punter Tress Way took some time with the media before leaving to discuss his plans for heading back to the Midwest.

“First thing is I’m going home,” Way said. “I miss my family and miss my friends. We’ve got a 21 hour drive back to Oklahoma, so we’ve got to stop somewhere at a little sports bar and grille and watch the Oklahoma-Clemson game. Other than that, it’s pedal to the metal heading home…maybe stop in at Nashville. I’d like to hear some live country music, maybe some chicken fried steak.”

Way then followed up to clarify who would be driving.

“[My wife will] do a lot of sleeping. She’s a great shotgun rider,” he said. “I’ll reach over and hold her hand, but she is knocked out. I’ll be listening to some music, podcast and stuff like that.”

As for others…

Linebacker Will Compton spent some time in the passenger seat responding to fans on Twitter but had to sign off once it was his turn to drive en route to Nebraska.

Tight end Je’Ron Hamm, who was signed yesterday to a Reserve/Future contract, spent most of his day driving, too.

Linebacker Jackson Jeffcoat couldn’t waste any time after clearing out his locker. He was able to catch a flight into Houston so he could catch his alma mater, Texas, play in the Texas Bowl.

Cornerback Bashaud Breeland wasn’t as fortunate to have a plane ride at his disposal. On his way south through his home state in South Carolina there must not have been much to look at on the highway.

Anyone who grew up playing sports remembers this kind of picture, the end-of-year shot with celebrating family members.

Kicker Kai Forbath added another one of those to his collection before Sunday’s game against the Cowboys.

His mother and sister have every right to be proud.

Forbath set career highs in field goals made (24) and points scored (103) in 2014, including three game-winning kicks.

This is hardly the first time Kai’s sister, Malia, has posted some family pictures on Instagram.

Take a look at a few more photos below:

Alfred Morris With The Slow-Mo Golf Swing

Alfred Morris traded in his touchdown bat for a gold club — at least for a moment in time — and gave the dimpled ball a ride.

Morris notes in the video’s caption that he’s a beginner. So, Redskins Nation, have any advice for Alfred in case he’s looking to improve his golf game?

Also, just for fun, check out this GIF of Morris homering over and over again.

Just completing his third season with the Redskins, Morris already ranks among the greats in a few statistical categories.

He’s sixth all-time in rushing yards (3,962) and seventh in touchdowns (28).

In the midst of college bowl season, The Redskins Blog will be highlighting the games that current Redskins players will likely be monitoring.

Ryan Clark and Perry Riley Jr. will be paying attention to:

Music City Bowl— LSU vs. Notre Dame— December 30, Nashville, Tenn.

Clark, a veteran safety, started 36 consecutive games for LSU. He was selected to the All-SEC second team in his junior year and helped lead the Tigers to a Sugar Bowl victory over Illinois as a senior, ranking third on defense with 88 tackles.

He signed with the Giants as an undrafted free agent and soon joined the Redskins for a brief stint. He returned to Washington this past season after eight years with the Steelers (2006-13).

Riley Jr. also earned BCS bowl experience with the Tigers. In his sophomore season, he collected a couple of tackles in the BCS National Championship game, helping beat Ohio State.

His performance grew into a starting job in his junior year, where he was among the top defenders on the team with 60 tackles.

That season, Riley was named the Defensive MVP of the Chick-fil-A Bowl and a finalist for the 2008 Butkus Award. The Redskins took him in the fourth round of the 2010 NFL Draft.

GOLSTON

(AP Image)

Kedric Golston will be paying attention to:

Belk Bowl— Georgia vs. Louisville— December 30, Charlotte, N.C.

In 2002, Golston was the first true freshman to start on Georgia’s defensive line since 1994. It was a special year for the school.

They won their first SEC Championship in 20 years, won the Sugar Bowl against Florida State and set a school record for most victories (13).

Golston battled with various injuries over the course of his next three years but still managed to play a significant part in the Bulldogs defense.

In 44 games he started 30 times and recorded 95 total tackles. The Redskins drafted him in the sixth round of the 2006 NFL Draft.

Trent Murphy will be paying attention to:

Foster Farms Bowl — Stanford vs. Maryland — December 30, Santa Clara, Calif.

Unlike Golston, Murphy had humble beginnings as a defensive end for Stanford, never seeing the field during his freshman year and getting limited playing time as a sophomore.

But he broke out in his junior season, logging 40 tackles for the Cardinal defense with 6.5 sacks, including one against Oklahoma State’s Brandon Weeden in the 2012 Fiesta Bowl.

His senior year, Murphy led the Cardinal defense with 10 sacks, was named to the All-Pac-12 first team and was a Butkus Award semifinalist.

He decided to return to Stanford as a fifth-year senior and helped lead the team to a second consecutive Pac-12 championship before losing to Michigan State in the Rose Bowl.

The Redskins selected him with the 47th pick in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft. The rookie had a solid first professional season, starting at linebacker near the end of the year.

Some tailgaters pride themselves on being diehard fans, getting to the stadium early, setting up tables and turning on some music.

Ultimately, the grill is the true decider of who reigns supreme over the parking lot. Food, particularly how it’s cooked, conquers all.

Posted onto the Facebook fan group “HTTR Nation,” these photos of a Redskins grill prove that showing fandom can be a very practical, and tasty, matter.

You’ve got to love the burgundy exterior and two griddle logos, making sure that even the hamburgers and steaks being eaten have the Redskins seared onto them.
