The Washington Redskins and Bon Secours Richmond Health System on Friday hosted the first Community Health Harvest for the under-served at the Bon Secours Washington Redskins Training Center.

Attendees were provided access to a hot shower, a warm meal, vaccinations and laundry services.

Former Redskins running backs Tim Hightower and Ricky Ervins greeted those in attendance and said the team’s efforts in the community are definitely noticed.

“I’m just thankful to be a part of this event and be able to give back to the community,” Hightower, a Richmond resident, said. “This is the same community that when I came here to the University of Richmond, they embraced me, taught me a lot of things and supported me throughout my collegiate career. Now being back here and living here, its great to be a part of it.”
