Jim Haslett understands the predicament the Buffalo Bills are currently facing.
Currently the defensive coordinator of the Washington Redskins, Haslett spent his first seven seasons as an NFL player with the Bills.
The Bills have been unable to practice, as they’ve been trapped by feet of snow. But, they’re still preparing to play this Sunday regardless of how much white stuff is around.
“We played Denver one year and it was the same deal,” Haslett said. “We had probably 13 to 14 foot of snow and we couldn’t get to the stadium, so we didn’t practice Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. … we had a walk through on Saturday and we beat Denver 9-6. So we were all chanting: ‘No more practice!’
“We had no practice and beat them.”
Dealing with snow during most of fall and winter, Haslett believes that when the storm does finally stop, the city will get back to normal quickly.
“I love Buffalo,” he said. “It’s a great place to live. They love their town. They love their city. They love their football team. They sellout all the time and they love it. They’ll play that game. They’ll have everybody in the city out shoveling that stadium to play that game.”
