Fenton High School and Andrew G. Schmidt Middle School in Fenton, MI., on Wednesday hosted a “Purple Out” — a campaign designed to bring awareness to pancreatic cancer — in conjunction with the DeSean Jackson Foundation.

The DeSean Jackson Foundation is dedicated to raising pancreatic cancer awareness and is thankful that Fenton High School and Andrew G. Schmidt Middle School have come together as well to support, as Jackson’s mom explained on Twitter.

In 2009, Jackson’s father died as a result of pancreatic cancer.

I lost my hero, my best friend and my father to pancreatic cancer and I deal with that loss each and every day of my life,” Jackson said. “He fought till the end. He was strong. But it was tough going into the hospital and seeing him.”

During his “D-Jack Backpack Giveaway” in September, Jackson said he’s “trying to hit the inner city and just really provide a cure for that disease.”

“Coming to the Boys & Girls Club doesn’t have anything to do with that disease, but it’s just really finding awareness and find a cure for it. I’d like to hit every area and not just be about one thing.

“I’m shedding light on a lot of different things in the community – bullying – and all types of things like that.”

It was taken during one of Centreville’s games earlier this year, as Griffin III helped Morgan Assel, a classmate of Espinal’s, with her promposal.

Pierre Garcon and Espinal have also been in touch, as the wide receiver helped Espinal’s family raise funds for a specialized van through a meet and greet. Fans paid $25 to meet Garcon, with all proceeds raised going to the van.

During one of Centreville’s games in September, the new van was presented to the Espinal family.

This photo was found in the Facebook group HTTR Nation.

Kevin McDonald wanted to do something about his all-white Nike Air Max shoes.

As anyone who has owned a pair of white shoes can attest, it’s difficult to keep the shoes from getting scuffed and dirty.

McDonald’s had, and instead of just throwing them away, he customized them in Redskins burgundy and gold.

They’re just slightly different from the burgundy and gold shoes defensive lineman Chris Baker had on earlier this year during training camp in honor of Ronald McDonald House Charities’ 40th anniversary:
