More than 600 miles from where the Washington Redskins call home, there’s another Redskins team that has a storied past.
Sent to the Washington Redskins from Twitter user Tony Lynch (@Lynch47), there’s 95 grade-schoolers ages 7 through 12 that play for the Redskins in Woodstock, Ga.’s South Cherokee Recreation Association’s (SRCA) football league.
According to SRCARedskins.com, the goal of the league is to provide an environment for the youngsters that will help them succeed both on the football field and beyond.
Whether a child is at SCRA for one year or eight years, our goal is to provide them with a foundation and the tools to help them succeed in not only their future athletic endeavors, but several aspects of life as well. In essence, our vision is for all of our young participants to step out into the community with confidence as leaders.
And like their professional counterparts, Woodstock’s Redskins have won a Super Bowl:
