Washington Redskins nose tackle Barry Cofield is serving as Northwestern’s honorary captain today for their Big 10 game against Michigan.
Before the game took place, Cofield spoke to the team:
Cofield was a standout defensive lineman for the Wildcats before his NFL career began in 2006.
He saw action in 49 games with 36 starts. In those games, he accumulated 197 tackles (88 solo), 6.5 sacks, eight pass deflections, a 16-yard interception return, recovered three fumbles and forced four others.
Also paying attention to college football this afternoon is rookie offensive lineman Morgan Moses and his son, Isaiah.
Moses spent four seasons with the University of Virginia before being drafted this past May. Virginia will be taking on the reigning National Champions, Florida State, later today.
