It was all about the Washington Redskins on Sunday evening at Champps Americana in Texas.
Hundreds of ecstatic Redskins fans packed the house and were joined by President/general manager Bruce Allen along with alums Chris Cooley, Ravin Caldwell and Rick “Doc” Walker.
Cooley ended his Redskins career as the franchise’s all-time leader in receptions by a tight end. A two-time Pro Bowler, Cooley can currently be heard on ESPN 980, as well as an analyst during all games on the Redskins Radio Network.
Caldwell, drafted by the Redskins in 1986, helped the franchise win two of their three Super Bowl titles. He recorded 8.5 sacks in 79 games in Washington.
Walker, a great Redskins tight end, played with the team from 1980 through 1985, winning a Super Bowl title with the team during the 1982 season. He is currently a fixture on the sidelines during each game for the Redskins Broadcast Network, and also co-hosts the daily show “Inside The Locker Room” on ESPN 980.
At the conclusion of the Redskins Rally, prizes ranging from a signed Alfred Morris jersey to tickets for tomorrow’s game were given away.
