Looking Back At Great Mark Rypien Performances Vs. Cowboys
Virgil Seay Remains In The Game Of Football

Before the Washington Redskins defeated the Tennessee Titans on a Kai Forbath field goal with time expiring, and before legendary quarterback Mark Rypien officially became the 46th member of the Ring of Fame, team greats from several different decades were introduced to the crowd at FedExField.

Together, the former players, coaches and front office members — all of which help make up the team’s deep and successful alumni base — helped the franchise win more than 500 games.

Five of those victories, of course, were in championship games.

Above you’ll see some photos of everyone, and below is video of the entire introduction of Redskins Alumni:

The 88 Express. Not only was it rumbling forward towards its next destination — the end zone — last Sunday, it’s going to be featured at local Harris Teeters over the next four weeks.

Washington Redskins wide receiver Pierre Garcon on Tuesday debuted “The 88 Express” at the Harris Teeter located in Reston, Va.

So what exactly did the Mount Union product decide should be in The 88 Express?

Well the wideout who has an old-school feel to his game kept it relatively traditional, as it’s a roasted turkey and Virginia ham topped with yellow American cheese, lettuce and honey mustard on a wheat sub roll.

Make sure to try “The 88 Express” the next time you’re at Harris Teeter.

Papa Smurf remains in the game of football.

Former Washington Redskins wide receiver Virgil Seay – 30 years removed from his playing days – is now a coach for George Mason University’s club football team.

Seay, of course, spent four seasons with the Redskins and was a member of the team’s “Fun Bunch.” In 1981 – his first season with the Redskins – the diminutive wide receiver was quite the home run threat.

His first three catches as a Redskin went for 28, 31 and 51 yards. In a Week 10 matchup with the Detroit Lions that year – a game the Redskins would ultimately win 33-31 – Seay would record a career-high eight receptions for 145 yards.

In 1982, the Troy product helped the Redskins win their first Lombardi Trophy, as Washington defeated the Miami Dolphins by a final of 27-17 Super Bowl XVII.

Seay still carries on the legacy of that game and that team on his hand, as he wears his Super Bowl ring whenever he can.

It’s the same ring that his players see each day in practice, and while they will probably never win one as well, they do get the unique opportunity of getting coached by a former Super Bowl winner.

Brian Orakpo Tweets To Redskins Nation After News Of His Injury
Redskins React To 19-17 Victory Over The Titans

Washington Redskins cornerback Bashaud Breeland is among five players up for Week 7 Rookie of the Week honors.

Breeland – the team’s fourth-round draft pick in this past May’s NFL Draft – intercepted Tennessee Titans quarterback Charlie Whitehurst during the second quarter of the Redskins’ 19-17 victory.

But the rookie’s great play didn’t stop at just the turnover.

On the day, the Clemson product recorded five tackles, including two for loss.

His first tackle for loss – one that would set the Titans back to a 3rd-and-18 situation – was on wide receiver Kendell Wright.

Wright, who tried to juke several different players to gain some open running room, was upended by Breeland and stopped for a three-yard loss.

Show your support for Breeland by voting for him here.
