During the first quarter of the Washington Redskins’ Week 7 game against the Tennessee Titans, Yeoman First Class Wayne A. Smith and Serviceman Second Class Reuben Williams were honored.
Smith was born and raised in Jacksonville Fla. Smith enlisted in the Navy on June 22 2004.
He is currently the Administration Leading Petty Officer with the U.S. Navy Ceremonial Guard, in Washington, D.C.
Smith’s prior duty stations include USS KITTY HAWK (CV 63) Yokosuka, Japan, Oceanographer of the Navy Staff, United States Military Training Mission Saudi Arabia and Mine Counter-Measures Crew DOMINANT.
Over the last seven years, he has been a Command Fitness Leader, motivating fellow Sailors to pass their Physical Fitness Assessment and maintain healthier lifestyles.
Williams, meanwhile, was born in Sierra Leone, South Africa. He enlisted in the Navy in August of 2008.
He is currently assigned as the Leading Petty Officer of the Firing Party of the United States Navy Ceremonial Guard in Washington, DC.
His prior duty stations include the USS Bataan (LHD-5) and NTCC Meridian. During his time onboard the Ceremonial Guard, Williams has lead the Commands Community outreach program supporting multiple local and national organizations in meeting the needs of the community.
