Rich Gannon Shares Thoughts On Mark Rypien

During the 1993 season, quarterbacks Mark Rypien and Rich Gannon were teammates with the Washington Redskins.

Rypien, of course, had been with the Redskins since the 1986 NFL Draft. Gannon, meanwhile, was traded to the Redskins shortly before the season opener against the Dallas Cowboys.

While they were together in Washington for only one season, Gannon vividly recalls the impact Rypien had on him as he adjusted to life with the Redskins.

The Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation, led by Dan and Tanya Snyder, and the American Cancer Society Friday evening hosted the inaugural Sack Cancer Gala at the Ritz-Carlton in McLean, Va.

With an estimated 500 attendees, the goal of the Sack Cancer Gala is to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer research and services for the American Cancer Society, which is leading the way in transforming breast cancer research from deadly to treatable and from treatable to preventable.
