Ryan Clark Opens Some Of His Birthday Gifts

It took a few days, but Washington Redskins safety Ryan Clark on Thursday finally opened up some of his birthday presents from his family.

Among the gifts Clark received, he got some old-school records of Prince and The Revolution’s Purple Rain and Michael Jackson’s Thriller:

The now 35-year-old celebrated his birthday on Sunday by wearing a purple and grey suit before and after the game:

And an undershirt featuring friend and former teammate Sean Taylor’s name and number during the game:

Darrel Young Recalls Homecoming Game Performance

Washington Redskins fullback Darrel Young said he’s going to enjoy wearing the team’s throwback uniforms this weekend against the Tennessee Titans, admitting that it’s a combination of the fact “they look cool and represent the team’s history” and that he’s experienced some previous success in them.

The Redskins honor their alumni each year during a special Homecoming weekend that is bookmarked by a game at FedExField.

Last year, in front of alumni from several different eras, Young had a career day, rushing for three touchdowns to include a game-winning four-yard run in overtime.

Before joining him in the Nation’s Capital, Washington Redskins defensive lineman Chris Baker first met legendary quarterback and Super Bowl XXII MVP Doug Williams at the Black College All-American Awards (BCAA).

Baker played at Hampton University, where he posted 69 tackles and 8.5 sacks.

Williams, of course, spent four seasons in Washington and is best remembered for leading an incredible second quarter offensive performance in Super Bowl XXII, when the Redskins dropped 35 points on the Denver Broncos in just 18 plays.

He is currently a Personnel Executive for the organization.

If there’s one comforting thing that reigning NBA MVP Kevin Durant will have during his rehab from surgery to repair a Jones fracture in his right foot, it’s his Washington Redskins blanket.

Durant posted a photo on his Instagram account late Thursday night — his first post since undergoing surgery — with a Redskins blanket covering part of his body with the caption “I’ll be back but for now I’m sittin back with my skins blankey:”
