During the first quarter of the Washington Redskins Week 5 game against the Seattle Seahawks, Chief Petty Officer Brian E. Clontz and Petty Officer Duskin A. Deichl were honored on the field.
Clontz, a lifelong Redskins fan who grew up in Waldorf, Md., has served in the U.S. Coast Guard for 15 years. Clontz recently returned from the Middle East, where he served as the engineering officer for a Coast Guard Cutter.
He is Coast Guard Sector Baltimore’s senior enlisted coordinator for the Joint Services National Capital Region Noncommissioned Officer and Petty Officer Professional Development Course.
Clontz credits his wife Lisa and his son Mateo for their love and support during his time of service.
Petty Officer Deichl, meanwhile, is a Marine Science Technician working as a Port State Control Examiner at Coast Guard Sector Baltimore.
Before assuming duties of that position, she served in Portsmouth, Va.
She also served in Kodiak, AK where she spent four years as a patrol officer.
Petty Officer Deichl was Coast Guard Sector Baltimore’s Enlisted Person of the Year in 2013.
