Washington-Seattle Matchup Includes Community Projects

Posted by Stephen Czarda on October 2, 2014 – 2:48 pm

The Week 5 matchup between the Washington Redskins and Seattle Seahawks will go far beyond the gridiron.

For each Monday Night Football game played this season, the two competing markets (in this case Washington, D.C. and Seattle) will also have a matchup off the field based on community projects.

Through NFL Play 60 DonorsChoose.org, fans can vote on projects between the two teams’ markets. The project that receives more votes will be fully funded, while the second place project will receive 50 percent of requested funding.

For this week’s matchup, Capital City Public Charter School in Washington, D.C. and Beacon Hill International School in Seattle, WA. will square off.
