Washington Redskins legendary quarterback Mark Rypien is celebrating his 52nd birthday today!
Drafted by the Redskins in the 1986 NFL Draft, Rypien would play six seasons in Washington, throwing for nearly 16,000 yards and 101 touchdowns.
During a magnificent 1991 season that would end with the team’s third Super Bowl victory, Rypien started all 16 regular season games, throwing for 3,564 yards and 28 touchdowns.
In Super Bowl XXVI against the Buffalo Bills, Rypien would win MVP honors with a 292-yard, two-touchdown performance.
