The Washington Redskins entered the locker room at halftime leading the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 10-0. The defense has once again applied tight pressure on the opponent, as the Buccaneers haven’t come close to scoring, let alone in striking distance for a touchdown. Gabe Miller’s strip-sack, and Clifton Geathers sack were two of several highlight plays in the first half.

On offense, Colt McCoy hit Ryan Grant for a touchdown on the first play of the second quarter. Following the touchdown, running backs Silas Redd and Chris Thompson have been tearing apart the Buccaneer defense.

Back on the field to get things going here in Tampa Bay, check out this running summary of the third quarter’s action:

Redskins’ Seventh Drive

Silas Redd takes his first carry of the second half for a FIRST DOWN! Gain of 11 yards…A few plays later on second down, Redd powers his way to another FIRST DOWN! Gain of 20 yards. Redskins in Tampa Bay territory (49-yard line). On first down, McCoy keeps the ball for a one-yard rushing gain. A few plays later, Robert Malone trots out for his first punt attempt of the night.

Punt goes 31 yards to the Tampa Bay 24-yard line.

Buccaneers’ Seventh Drive

Jeff Demps starts off the drive with a short gain. Demps carries the ball again on second down. A few plays later with the Buccaneers in Redskin territory, Richard Crawford makes a nice wrap-up tackle in open field. On the next play, Crawford nearly intercepts the ball. The third-year cornerback jumped the route nicely, and while he didn’t get the turnover, he did force a fourth down.

Buccaneers’ special teams unit comes out for the field goal, and it is good.

Redskins 10, Buccaneers 3

Redskins’ Eighth Drive

On the second play of the drive and the first play for him individually in the game, Lache Seastrunk takes a screen pass and races up the field for an 80-yard TOUCHDOWN! WOW!

Extra point is GOOD!

Redskins 17, Buccaneers 3

Buccaneers’ Eighth Drive

Demps starts out the drive with a long gain, but Breeland made a solid open-field tackle right around midfield. Two plays later, Crawford does the same thing. Demps gains three on third down for a chain mover, but he’s stuffed by Adam Hayward — a former Buccaneer signed by the Redskins in the offseason. Clifton Geathers continues his performance tonight with a quick tackle on the shifty Demps. On the next play, however, the Buccaneers score a touchdown, as Mike Kafka connects with Solomon Patton for a 25-yard score.

Extra point is good.

Redskins 17, Buccaneers 10

Redskins’ Ninth Drive

On the first play of the drive, Seastrunk gets his first carry of the game. On second down, Seastrunk records an eight-yard gain. 3rd-and-3…McCoy shreds a sack attempt and runs the ball. Unable to get a first down, though. BUT defense is called for holding. FIRST DOWN! On the gifted first down, Seastrunk carries the ball up the middle for a short gain. On second down, Robinson grabs a pass after a very sharp cut and runs up the field for a FIRST DOWN! Looks mighty quick there while in traffic. On first down, Seastrunk carries the ball for 11 yards and a FIRST DOWN! On the next first down play, Redd carries the ball for a one-yard gain, but he really fought for it.

End of quarter.

Redskins 17, Buccaneers 10
