DeSean Jackson Continues Efforts In Washington, D.C. Community

When Washington Redskins wide receiver DeSean Jackson signed with the team in early April, he explained that he wanted to accomplish two things while in Washington.

The first was to score touchdown and help the Redskins win games. The second was to be active in the Washington, D.C., community.

While the regular season is a little more than a week away and fans are eagerly awaiting what the three-time Pro Bowler – who has 18 touchdown receptions of 30 yards or longer in his NFL career – can provide, he’s already placed his footprint on the community.

Jackson on Tuesday was giving away backpacks at the Boys & Girls Club in Manassas, Va., as part of the DeSean Jackson Foundation’s efforts to help those in need.

The Washington Redskins tomorrow night will play their final preseason game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Giving the players one more opportunity to showcase their talents before the 53-man roster is finalized, head coach Jay Gruden wants to see the depth of the Redskins against a team they will face again in the regular season.
