AUDIO: Dale Earnhardt Jr. Calls Redskins Touchdown

Posted by Stephen Czarda on August 19, 2014 – 9:39 am

Washington Redskins fan and NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. should enter the Redskins Radio broadcast booth more often.

With the Redskins leading 7-3 early in the third quarter, Larry Michael, Voice of the Washington Redskins, asked Earnhardt Jr. to take it away on a 1st-and-10 play from the Cleveland Browns’ 14-yard line.

As the lifelong Redskins fan took center stage, quarterback Kirk Cousins found rookie wide receiver Ryan Grant for a beautiful touchdown connection.

“Cousins back, he’s throwing, he’s going over the top…touchdown! That’s how you call it right there!”

And just like that, “Hail to the Redskins” was playing at FedExField once again.

Check out the full audio from his time in the booth last night below:

Jarrett Hatley, a prior Corporal with the U.S. Marines Corps, and Reece Lodder, a sergeant with the Marines, were honored at FedExField Monday evening, just days after the two were at Redskins Park in Ashburn, Va.

The photo – which received nationally attention after it was seen in the background of the photo tweeted by the team when wide receiver DeSean Jackson signed – can been seen throughout Redskins Park.

The two, along with their families, were on the field before tonight’s game, where they met Redskins owner Dan Snyder and watched the team up-close.

During the game, fans in attendance were treated to this video highlighting their visit to Redskins Park.
