Throwback Thursday: Most Recent Redskins-Browns Game At FedExField

The Washington Redskins will play host to the Cleveland Browns of the AFC North at FedExField on Monday for the first time since Week 7 of the 2008 regular season.

Even in preseason, the two teams don’t square-off very often. But, just as was the case in Week 15 of the 2012 regular season when then-rookie backup quarterback Kirk Cousins kept the Redskins’ playoff hopes alive with a 329-yard, two touchdown performance in a 38-21 victory, the Redskins found a way to beat the Browns by three — 14-11 — in the last appearance by Cleveland at FedExField.

Coach’s Turn: Jay Gruden At The Mic

Happy to be home, but also looking ahead.

That was theme of Washington Redskins head coach Jay Gruden’s first press conference since returning to Redskins Park.

After a very successful training camp — where the Redskins got live reps in against the New England Patriots among other positives  — Washington’s next game is on Monday vs. Cleveland at FedExField.

The team marched ahead in getting ready not only for that game, but the season on Thursday with a full-length practice.

Gruden talked about how much the first-team might play, what Pierre Garcon and DeSean Jackson have to improve, the defense’s performance at Thursday’s practice and more.
