Coach’s Turn: Jay Gruden At The Mic

The first joint practice with the New England Patriots was a “learning experience” for the Washington Redskins according to first-year head coach Jay Gruden.

Shortly before the Redskins’ afternoon walk through practice, the head coach talked with the media and provide his thoughts on how his team performed against the reigning AFC East champs.

An Up-Close Look At The Drawing Power Of Alfred Morris

While Alfred Morris deserves attention due to his on-field performance over the last two seasons, his infectious personality off it is what makes him one of Redskins Nation’s favorites.

Entering his third season with the Washington Redskins, the Pro Bowl running back is the solid rock upon a dynamic offense can always count on. Closing in on 3,000 career yards, the workhorse back has been working on his pass-catching to add a layer to his game.

It’s awesome to think what’s in store for him next with so many capabilities.

Anyway, shortly after giving the New England Patriots their first ride on the A-Train, Morris spent time with the fans who back him by signing autographs and chattin’ it up.

EXCLUSIVE: Robert Griffin III And Tom Brady Practicing Together

One is a former No. 2 overall pick who electrified a fan base anxiously awaiting a leader to guide them back to big-time success. The other is a two-time AP NFL MVP who has led his team to five Super Bowl appearances.

Both are their respective franchise’s cornerstone player. And both were also on the same practice field this morning.

The Bon Secours Washington Redskins Training Center has been home to the burgundy and gold over the past two weeks, but starting today, it opened it’s doors to the New England Patriots as well.

And while there were 180 footballers on the field, two had all eyes on them — Robert Griffin III and Tom Brady.

Mark Burroughs is someone who catches your eye. Come rain or shine, Mark is there in the far corner of the south practice field.

Day 10 Drills: Wide Receivers

In front of a massive crowd to watch the Washington Redskins and New England Patriots hold their first joint practice, the wide receivers worked sideline catch drills.

Redskins receivers will get a good test on Thursday at the preseason opener at FedExField with three-time All Pro cornerbacks Darrelle Revis and 2010 Pro Bowler Brandon Browner manning the outside of the Patriots’ defense.

Day 10 Drills: Linebackers

After two weeks of getting physical with one another the Washington Redskins have a new opponent to knock around — the New England Patriots.

The Redskins are sharing the Bon Secours Washington Redskins Training Center in Richmond, Va., with the Patriots through Wednesday. On Thursday, the burgundy and gold will host the reigning AFC East champs at FedExField for the preseason opener.

Anyway, the linebackers set the tempo early this morning with various footwork and interception drills. Whether it’s stopping a nimble running back or intercepting a pass intended for a receiver, linebackers must be versatile in every facet.
