Adding more competition to the defensive backfield, the Washington Redskins signed four college free agent defensive backs last week.
More on each:
Helping the Bison win three-straight NCAA I-AA National Championships, Shepherd tallied 94 tackles in 24 games with an interception in the semifinals vs. New Hampshire in 2013 to give North Dakota St. the victory.
A native of Leesburg, Madison played four seasons for Toledo where he accumulated 57 tackles and two interceptions.
COURTNEY BRIDGET JR.
Hailing from Maryland, Bridget Jr. is a physical player who manhandled the competition while at Hampton.
Reuniting with his old Georgia Bulldog teammate, Bacarri Rambo, Sailors is a fantastic asset to the special teams unit as well as the defense. In 2012, he was one the school’s Special Teams Most Valuable Players.
Also a quick note as Redskins Blog has highlighted some of the achievements of the college free agents.
There are several players currently on the roster who have made great contributions to the Redskins despite not being selected in the NFL Draft. Among them include Chris Baker, Stephen Bowen, Ryan Clark, Kai Forbath, Logan Paulsen and Darrel Young. Just something to remember as these four continue to acclimate to life in the NFL.
