Replace the smartphone with a portable cassette player and you pretty much have the early 1990’s all over again.
For anyone that has perused through the sports pages of the Internet today, you’ve seen that the Detroit Tigers donned some Zubaz outfits after a game last night.
As is the case with many fashion fads, it’s cool to rehash outfit ideas that died out years ago. While the Tigers may be getting all the press, the Washington Redskins have their own connection to the colorful outerwear.
Long before he was a sought after coordinator or an assistant for his brother in Tampa Bay, Redskins head coach Jay Gruden was a quarterback in the Arena Football League. It was there where fans concentrated both on his cannon arm and loud pants.
That leads to another point.
While the blue, silver and red are cool and all, burgundy and gold in Zubaz spread is so much better. I mean look at the duo above at the 1992 Pro Bowl.
And why stop at the waist?
If you’re feeling like this is the look for you (and you are), then head on over to the Redskins Team Store now where you can get Zubaz pants and a hat.
You’ll be the envy of every man, woman and child that sees you.
