“It’s a sleeve. It’s a party on the left hand; it’s all business on the right.”
If you’ve watched any NFL Draft coverage on ESPN over the last four years then I’m sure you’ve managed to see at least bits and pieces of Gruden’s QB Camp with Redskins head coach Jay Gruden’s older brother.
ESPN released some highlights from QB Camp “graduates” time spent with the former head coach and to our luck this specific package features two of the Redskins’ three quarterbacks:
Robert Griffin III’s interview with Jon was certainly memorable at the time because he and Andrew Luck were some of the highest touted prospects at the quarterback position in history.
Soon after the completed segment was produced, which is pretty lighthearted in comparison to other pre-draft interviews, the Redskins traded up to the No. 2 overall pick and selected the Heisman winning quarterback.
Colt McCoy‘s story, however, played out much differently.
Far from the center of draft hoopla, the University of Texas quarterback (and his classic Southern accent, ma’am) had “no expectations” for his draft experience knowing he’d give 100 percent regardless of new locale and round picked.
He’d eventually be selected by the Cleveland Browns with the 85th pick of the 2010 draft and backed up Colin Kaepernick last season before signing with the burgundy and gold last month.
Whether it’s wanting to know why one wears a protective sleeve or yodeling, it’s safe to say if Gruden’s QB Camp is on hilarity will ensue.
