Kind of like that day right at the end of summer where you got to see your classrooms and classmates before school actually started, the Washington Redskins were as giddy as could be to put their gear back on this morning as a collective group and work with the new coaching staff on football activities for the first time this season.
Today, tomorrow and Thursday marks the first mini-camp of the season for the Redskins, this one a voluntary session for veterans.
Have a look at what they had to say along with exclusive pictures of some of the new guys in burgundy and gold:
Kicking things off is kicker Kai Forbath entering his third season in Washington. In 24 games with the Redskins, Forbath has connected on 35 of his 40 field goal attempts.
Defensive end Jarvis Jenkins, who recorded his first career sack on Colin Kaepernick last season, also admitted ecstasy in getting to see everyone again:
Former enemy turned big-time Burgundy and Gold acquisition Jason Hatcher got under the sheets early last night to ensure he was in peak condition this morning:
About to lay it down, first day of mini camp with my new squad. Thanks pops for my 9th year. I'm soooooooo blessed!!! Zzzzzzzzzz—
