Redskins Cheerleaders Make The Cut

Posted by Gabe Hiatt on April 6, 2014 – 8:01 pm

The hopefuls had made it to Sunday.

After advancing through preliminary auditions and three rounds of rehearsals, 60 women took the stage at the Bethesda (Md.) Blues & Jazz Supper Club and made their cases to represent the Redskins at the 2014-2015 Washington Redskins Cheerleaders Final Auditions.

After almost three hours entertaining a packed house with dance routines and swimsuit modeling, 36 cheerleaders and two alternates received applause as official members of the squad.

The show opened with a dance number incorporating all the prospects.

Then captains Maigan, Monique, Charo and Brianne introduced the finalists.

“You’ll see today 60 beautiful women,” Brianne said. “They’re beautiful, they’re talented, and they can dance. Listen to what they do outside of their dance career.

“They’ve done amazing things.”

The biographies read over the PA system while the finalists modeled swimwear revealed women whose accomplishments spanned far beyond dancing.

Many finalists held Masters degrees. There were magna cum laude and summa cum laude graduates, a specialist in international public policy and a federal law enforcement employee. Social workers, teachers and mothers paraded across the stage in peak physical form.

Watch the entire live stream:

Near the end of the event, judges composed of ex-cheerleaders, long-time sponsors and friends of the program chose the team.

The First Ladies of Football donned burgundy-and-gold T-shirts, posed for photographs and performed one final routine set to “Hail To The Redskins.”
