Biggers Returns With Improved Eyesight

The Washington Redskins made a familiar investment in the secondary Thursday, re-signing the versatile E.J. Biggers.

According to the corner/safety’s Twitter account, he’ll return to Washington with upgraded vision.

Biggers is the second player to publicize news of a Lasik procedure this offseason.

Back in February, quarterback Kirk Cousins discussed his reasons for seeking laser treatment with ESPN NFL Nation’s John Keim.

“If it gets to 20-15, then there’s an obvious improvement,” Cousins told Keim. “In this league the difference between Pro Bowl and getting cut is that small.

“The more you can see out of the corner of your eye – blitzes, pass protection, open receivers – all of it is effective. When you have strong peripheral vision you can take in a lot of information at once.”

With defensive backs sometimes expected to read multiple receivers and the quarterback on the same play, Biggers could enjoy similar benefits.
