When the Redskins announced the team had re-signed Perry Riley Jr., I thought of Week 15 in Atlanta.
The Redskins led the Falcons, 20-17, in the third quarter, but Atlanta had driven inside the 10-yard line. Steven Jackson ran to the 6, Tony Gonzalez was stopped at the 1, and an encroachment penalty cut the distance in half.
On fourth-and-goal, Perry Riley Jr. crashed the backfield, plowed a shoulder into Jackson’s hip and drove the running back to a standstill. Matt Ryan punched the turf. Turnover on downs.
Welcome back, Perry.
